Andy Lee stopped Korobov and Charlo couldn't. With Charlo's struggle against Korobov, with some thinking he lost, I don't think he is quite on the level of Canelo and GGG unfortunately.

The truth isn't always popular, but it's still the truth. Boxing judging is subjective so you can't say this is one of those times, definitively, but what I can say is I felt that Korobov won, and we are now seeing a clear pattern emerge where these foreign boxers can outbox you coming forward, or moving backwards, or many different styles, but as we saw with Kovalev-Ward, Canelo-GGG, Gvozdyk-Stevenson scorecards, and now this, the judges will seemingly have different standards every time, whichever standards are necessary on the night to give the decision to the local national star or regional star.

I think if Charlo had been the Russian, and Korobov the American, Korobov would have gotten the decision. I also think that had that been the case, Charlo would be fighting at light heavyweight, not middleweight, because for some reason the top Russian boxers of the last 10 years typically fight near their natural weights, but I've noticed Charlo and a handful of other top American and Mexican boxers seem to have taken rehydration in boxing to even greater extremes recently from before.

What is it about Charlos, and let's call it "the American school" or the Mexican school, that allows boxers to rehydrate 25 or 30 lbs overnight, and fight sometimes four or five weight classes below your real weight class even by normal pro standards, which is still below your natural actual walk around weight? In Charlo's case, he turned pro three weight classes below his real weight by pro standards, which to be fair is less than Mikey did.

I mean honestly, to me, weight was the biggest factor in this fight. Charlo-Korobov reminded me of Chavez Jr vs Andy Lee. Andy Lee was clearly better than him, but the size difference was so insane that Chavez Jr won. The biggest difference is that Korobov realized Charlo was too big to knock out, so Korobov boxed to win on points instead. Whenever Lee did that vs Chavez Jr, he had big success, but he fell in love with his power and went for the KO vs Chavez Jr, which led to Lee getting dragged into a war with the bigger man and getting stopped.

Otherwise, though, a lot of similarities. The official winners were Chavez Jr and Jermall Charlo, but if you judge by who is actually the best boxer out of those names, in a P4P sense, it would be Korobov way at the top (other than running into Andy Lee's right hook, incidentally), Jermall Charlo and Andy Lee a ways below him about even, and then Chavez Jr way at the bottom.

its very difficult for a euro to get a decision in america against a home fighter. it just doesnt happen against one of their 'favourites'. every fight there is one crazy card.

Good to see Boxingscene finally reporting this disgrace of a decision. When Boxingscene scores a fight as close as it was with the final round being 10-8 to Charlo (incorrectly), something stinks this can't be let go the Charlo hype train is well and truly over and this s*** needs to be investigated.

If a fighter goes in to a fight already 1 card down, that is unfair and a robbery.

If Korobov had won the last round, which he didn't, he still would have lost on the cards, THAT would have been a robbery. As it was it was just a very debatable decision.

Hazzard should either hang up his scorecard or have his glasses prescription reviewed.

You act as if the same thing doesn't happen to non euro fighters fighting in europe, ffs.

Hazard Sr. and Hazard Jr. are both incompetent. and Lennox Lewis still sucks at commentating. just a complete ***** show across the board. this card is ten times more criminal than any of those suspect Canelo cards. but since this wasnt a high profile fight nobody gives a damn.
