Genetics!!!! Generally speaking Mexicans whether they are poor or middle class are simply not big tall men.

We're already starting to see top Mexican fighters in the middle divisions (Canelo, Zurdo, Benavidez) now, it's matter of time before we see them contending in the light-heavyweight and cruiser divisions
Once this happens, Mexicans will be undisputed in boxing. Mexicans already have a champion in every weight class up to 168lbs.

The Japanese are heavy in the lightweights, Eastern euros and brits are top heavy and Americans are well represented in the welters/middleweights.

Mexicans would be across the board from top to bottom.

My point still stands in regards to where you'll find the bigger, taller guys over 6ft, but yes, you are correct. In general the Mexican population isn't a tall one.

The native indian/indigenous population of the southern states brings down that average.
