I can usually tell a casual by what they say about Mike Tyson, if there like “man Tyson was the best ever he’d kill Ali” they dksab. Mike was a physical phenom, incredible physical ability and talent, the reason I started boxing, but hardcore unbiased fans know he was a bully that was mentally weak and would never beat a Ali/Lewis/Holyfield type of fighter.

I'm not really into watching old black and white film from older eras. I prefer younger fighters that are current because I like the drama of not knowing who will win more than I like the nostalgia of a great fight.

I don't think boxing started when I started watching. I have made sure to learn about fighters before I started watching.

I juts don't think there is a "right" way to be a fan of the sport but I do think you should know more than just what they spoon feed you on the networks and casual sports sites.

I have read about and been interested in boxing from when bare knuckle boxing was created in England in the 1700s.

I grew up watching Tyson but I watch old boxing documentaries or old fights most nights. Everyone has a story and the backdrop around the early fighters is more interesting than most.

I'd watch documentaries from any era but typically I stick to fights from about the 60s onwards. Why watch Black and White TV?

Who's making good docos nowadays? 30 for 30 don't do enough boxing. The HBO Legendary Nights series was amazing.

There's a tendency in sports to go over the top in discrediting those that are popular among the masses.

Basically, I think they overrate and we respond by underrating Tyson.

He was amazing up to about the age of 23. Could and probably should have been the best ever by a huge margin. That puts him in a fairly unique position.

If you don't worry about where he ranks in the all time list, you can just appreciate how lucky we were to see him fight. And I don't know that I'd rank anyone in my lifetime higher in that regard.

It's disappointing how many fans care so little about anything that happened before Ali. This sport has the greatest history and probably the most documented. I try to keep a pace up of between 20-30 books a year.

You try to act superior but then say dumbass comments and youre not trolling either. For example, you said Jacobs already has a conparable resume to Casamayor and Corrales.

LMAO youre damn right I'm laughing at you. Fraud!!!
