DAZN Numbers for Canelo/Fielding "Shockingly Low"

That's worldwide though surely?
Don't forget, DAZN is already big in countries like Japan, Germany etc..and been there a couple of years
The USA download numbers might still be pretty lowComment

I bet they will introduce a "Premium" service, which will only include things like Canelo fights.
That's how they will get around going back on their word about not having PPV'sComment

Lol well that's bull, even though I'd love to know how many subs they have. You have to remember you can buy downloads just like you can but twitter trending. I think earlier in the thread someone stated they've seen that DAZN has 88K subs, including people still on the free trial. That would be consistent with the SO SAD comment. Any PPV that did 88K buys would be considered a total failure..
Any clout-chasing poster can make up #'s.Comment

people don't really understand how show business works
Netflix produces a lot of its own programming and original movies
narcos=id love to see the budget on that....not the most extravagant show...but I bet its not cheap
they also just did a new crime thriller with ben Affleck and a pretty all star cast which I'm sure wasn't cheap...it isn't out yet
big budget movies are usually backed by investors....Comment

yup thats the best thing they do.... and since they have canelo on their side they can make the cinco de mayo fights like the wrestlemania of boxing.....They should take a page out of the WWE. They have their PPVs on their WWE Network for the monthly $9.99 subscription but they also allow you to buy the PPV from your cable/satellite distributor. I think this would definitely work better for those over the age of 50 that just don't know how to use DAZN yet. I mean let's be real, there are those in their 20s that are just learning how to watch DAZN on their television.
imo if they do that they can garner more interest which would help in the long runComment

Sky do that in the UK.
If you own a bar and want to show a Sky PPV, it's not just the standard PPV cost. Maybe it's the same in USA too, i guess so.
The cost is well into the hundreds just for a PPV event and a yearly Sky Sports subscription costs around £15,000 a year for a bar.
I'd imagine DAZN will do the same in USA if they pick up enough sports for a bar to pick up their service.Comment
