SHO is smart here. They can potentially win rights to Joshua's next fight which will likely be against Whyte. Now is that likely? Probably not since DAZN will bid huge for any AJ fight and Hearn would make sure they get rights to his fights. But Hearn even mentioned before that AJ isn't necessarily set in stone with DAZN and could fight on other networks if they offer more money. Only thing that is a bit confusing is that AJ supposedly has stake in DAZN. So can he really fight on another network?
He doesn't have a stake in DAZN. That's almost a certainty considering the parties involved.

If anybody would get a stake, it would've been Canelo (and he didn't).

The reality is that budget isn't very large. (In theory it would've accelerated if certain benchmarks were met, but GBP ruined that plan.) That's why Hearm keeps losing purse bids here.

Now, you can say it is a bad look for DAZN since these are the fights they should be airing as they are promoted by Hearn himself.
Very interesting. Thanks for the info.

No problem. I mean expect most of those fights to end up on DAZN, but occasionally SHO or ESPN+ may win rights to some of those fights. But obviously what matters most is Joshua and where his fights end up at.

If it was more, PBC would've surely lost some significant talent. Cash rules in boxing.

I won't be surprised if DAZN is exclusively a GBP orovider by the end of 2019.
Depends. If AJ is built as a big star in the US the Matchroom partnership becomes just as important as GBP. If not, then is really zero point in continuing to partner with Matchroom in the US

Huh? Why wouldn't people be happy SHO picked this fight up or another network? Their last fight was a barn burner and one of the best HW fights of the last generation.

Smart business move. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if successfully poached Joshua v. Whyte or at least ran up the price so high that DAZN choked on the money.
