Don't sure what to read between the lines regarding this but I'm kinda split on this one. I like the fact that DAZN typically gives me the entire fight card from the prelims to the main event, more access to boxing is a good thing.
With Showtime getting it I probably won't get any of the undercard but I prefer the Showtime announcers much, much more. Anything to avoid Sugar Ray Leonard making comments that are completely opposite to what's going on in the ring is a good thing for me...Comment

I just don't see how DAZN giving Canelo and Golden Boy all these dates and money doesn't some how end up coming from the pot they originally put aside for Hearn. I think Golden Boy is putting Hearn in the backseat with DAZN. He couldn't get the fighters or the subscribers so they had to make their own deal with Golden Boy wouldn't shock me if they cut back on some of Hearns cards per year. I don't even think he has enough fighters to handle the amount of cards he supposedly has guaranteed from DAZN.
You gave Golden boy 10 cards a year then 2-3 cards on top of that for canelo fights. So 12-13 on top of Hearns original 16 US cards and 16 UK cards. If DAZN don't cut back on Hearn cards thats 45 cards that a lot of boxing maybe too much. I think DAZN turned this one down so showtime scooped it up.Comment

To cut a long story short..
DAZN will get all the rubbish Matchroom cards that nobody else wants or will ever bother bidding for, which is most of their regular saturday night cards. They will get them by virtue of nobody else wanting them.
All cards are there to be bidded for. There's no deal in place for DAZN to automatically get any Sky cards, they have no business deal with DAZN, nothing exclusive.
Any card that might be of interest can be won by the highest bidder still.Comment

Dunno about Whyte but i think Chisora is not actually Matchroom fighter officially. I think he just works on a fight by fight basis with them. As far as i know, he has no fixed term contract.Comment

Eddie Hearn allegedly got a billion dollars over 8 years to be the content supplier for DAZN, and it's not like Showtime paid a fortune to air Whyte-Chisora 2 in the afternoon either.
With Matchroom USA being carried by Demetrius Andrade (Jarrel Miller is signed to Salita), logic would tell you that Eddie Hearn would try to use as many of the viable Matchroom Sport cards as possible to try and fill his content quota with DAZN, yet he's not here.
Doesn't add upComment

According to him, DAZN has first and last refusal to any PPV events and they passed on this one. Said something like I guess it was the afternoon factor which makes no sense since you are showing your other Matchroom cards in the afternoon plus Usyk/Bellew being shown on DAZN.Eddie Hearn allegedly got a billion dollars over 8 years to be the content supplier for DAZN, and it's not like Showtime paid a fortune to air Whyte-Chisora 2 in the afternoon either.

Because, if we're honest about it, it's a matchup that doesn't really move things along, while also being at 3 in the afternoon.
Whyte refused the eliminator to be WBC mandatory (against Ortiz), refused the eliminator to be the IBF mandatory (against Pulev), both really good fights, to take a domestic scrap for the chance to rematch the man who put him out within 8.
Beyond that, there's no need for hyperbole lol.Comment
