He's the Wilder of the MW division. Extremely limited but has devastating power.

No he isn't. Wilder hasn't lost to anybody on Rubio's level.

Ranked high when he fought GGG by some, called a bum then by others, I'm sure. You know the NSB hypocrites man, they change their opinion to suit their agenda that minute and there's dudes like than on both side of every fanboy / hater divide. You gotta name names, man, rather than just issuing blanket statements.

Dude's not a 'bum' (however you define that). He's a dangerous finisher, just not that skilled... he'll routinely KO your B/C level guys in highlight reel fashion but gets outboxed by your better class of fighter. A lot's made out of his early losses to Rubio and Alcine, but he was (at 21ish) little more than a green kid then and ran into stamina (and mental fortitude issues) when he ran into someone who wouldn't fold when hit.

It's not a bad fight for Canelo any more than it was a bad fight for Golovkin, but it's not a fight there's much chance of Lemieux winning either. Probably have to be at 168 now though... David's been having weight issues at 160 for years and I think this last one has probably finished him at MW, and I think stature will be a real handicap at the higher weight (though won't really matter against Canelo, of course)

EDIT: FWIW Lemieux was ranked #4 by the TBRB at the time he fought Golovkin and is ranked #6 now and is similarly ranked elsewhere I think. Any boxing fan who calls a top 10 fighter in any division (even if they think it's a weak one) a 'bum' has an agenda IMO. Hell pretty much anyone who calls any professional fighter a 'bum' has issues in my book - unless the fighter actually is a homeless dude, of course..

He is not a bum, he is a Top 10 fighter at 160 with Crazy power. But he is also clearly limited. Most labelled him a bum after Saunders schooled him

I think the guys who labelled him a bum are the same guys who are ranking him high right now.

And those are the canelo fans. Can’t blame others for what you’re doing yourselves.

In a neutral light, he’s a solid fighter. But not enough to compete at the top level. Canelo beats him the same way GGG did.

He got knocked out by Marco Rubio.

Come on dude.... No one ever rated him more than a dude with a good punch who could sell a few tickets, he just hit hard and had a world title.

After BJS absolutely humiliated him, he's not going to get any respect when talking about top-shelf middleweights.

Saying all that, I'm cool with Canelo fighting him. Should be a fun one while he lasts.

Lol at the notion canelo is underrated. A guy who is ranked top 5 p4p on most lists, top 3 in many, top 1 on some ...larry is trying to imply he is UNDERrated. Loool
