Comments Thread For: Lomachenko: Maybe We Can Make Mikey Garcia Fight Next Year

Mikey Garcia is light years ahead of Pedraza as far as timing and technical skills, he has the power to do real damage to Loma.. We saw how badly beat up Loma's face was against Pedraza, this is a great fight I favor Mikey to win.

Originally posted by Robbie Barrett View PostWhat a load of bollocks. Garcia has been calling out Lomachenko for the past couple of years. Lomachenko was never interested, the best we got was "in a few fights". Now he's mentioning him because Garcia is moving to 147 to fight a much more dangerous fighter and will likely not return to 135. Lomachenko never had any serious interest in a Garcia fight.
They'd never been in the same division but Loma did move to Linares (who Mikey called for then pulled out on) and Mikey fought a rather pointless fight with Lipinets and with Loma in the 135 division Mikey starts talking welterweight. Loma had been mentioning that he will be moving up to fight Mikey since about 5 fights ago when he'd barely had his 2nd fight at 130.
You're not being very objective. Mikey has never called out Loma, rather he put roadblocks up and excuses as to why it can't happen. One sounds like a guy with reasons why it can't happen the other sounds like a guy who wants to make it happen. Reminds me of Spence and Crawford and not surprisingly it's the Haymon clients putting up the roadblocks and fighting exclusively in house.

One of the best match ups in boxing is now gone!
Mikey won’t be the same win, lose or draw!
Spence is gonna punish him like Mikey slept with his wife, and going back down to 135 would kill Mikey!
Loma won’t get any recognition for fighting him regardless, that was his legacy fight and he should’ve demanded Bob do everything in his power to make an offer Mikey wouldn’t refuse!
Loma’s only notable fight around his weight class is with Tank Davis if Davis cleans out 130 and moves up an gets a belt!

Originally posted by .WesternChamp. View Postagreed with the bolded. team garcia has always said the fight will never happen because of arum and TR, yet they'll turn around and say they want manny next (when manny was still with TR) LOL!!!
Doesn't sound like a guy that's tried to make it or been open minded though I won't say he's ducked Loma. I think he ducked Gamboa and Linares though and he did ask for Cotto then declined it. I give him credit for the suicide mission against Spence though and think he'll retire shortly after or maybe fight Pacquaio?
