You could tell Roach wasn't feeling Davison.

He's trying to weasel his way in to be his head trainer.

I think Davison did a great job with his advice in the corner.

Roach tends to never give advice and just stare at his fighter in the corner.

Roach is right about one thing too many trainers use a cut and paste approach to their fighters. I have seen many trainers tell different fighters the very same instructions and strategy. No matter if their opponent is a defensive fighter or offensive fighter. Whether their opponent is tall or short, slow or fast. Canelo's trainers are an example of this. Every fight they tell him the very same thing in-between rds. I swear I think he trains himself.

There is a fair bit of merit in what he says, as it appeared Wilder was a bit hurt or buzzed by Fury's punches, and in those moments Fury could have been more aggressive. Of course, it's a fine line because he knew of Wilder's power, but slight adjustments can be made.

Third work on that left hook. Throw it to the body and head. Tyson gave Wilder plenty of chances to land a hook but Wilder didn’t know how to take advantage.

If I were Tyson there is no style adjustment to make just come in better shape.

The couple times he caught caught were probably due to getting tired.

Drop ten more pounds and lift some weights.

Why would he need to change his style it is working?
          Nice assessment.

I didn't suggest Tyson change his style because we all know that it worked well and caused Wilder all types of fits. I was saying that he could make adjustments.

Changing styles would be like Berto trying to adopt FMJ's shoulder roll defense against Guerrero. Making adjustments would be like FMJ did in both of his rematches.

Fury did a hell of a job and I actually think that he won (I wanted Wilder to win). Not trying to knock either guy, just giving my thoughts.

Was just thinking that exact same thing. Jeez. Come on Freddie, Fury and Davison have been lavishing praise on you, calling you a stand up, honest guy and you just say this **** behind their back? Very poor taste.

Fury was boxing the brakes off Wilder so didn't need to take chances. He hurt him a couple of times but opening up in front of him is danger personified. Very disappointed in Freddie, especially with the "he said the exact same thing to Isaac" comment. Poor choice.

Roach does make sense here. Fury had a height and a huge 50 lb weight advantage on Wilder yet Wilder was the one backing him up. Fury should've pressed Wilder back and forced him on the ropes. Like Roach said, Fury was able to stun Wilder a few times in there but never capitalized.

roach's ego won't let him say Ben Davison did a good job on fight night

I think Wilder may be stuck in his ways and will make little to no adjustments from fight number 1. If he can defend against the jab better and not rush his shots that would serve him well.

Tyson is the pure boxer so I can see him making endless adjustments in a rematch.
                  It's really simple for Wilder.
                  Don't box with Fury.
Quit being 100% head hunter too.
Gotta back up Fury and pound him up and down.

This. Fury's system has worked well thru the years, so he likely wouldn't have listened much anyway. Would've been cool to see him follow thru with more aggression, but then that could've ended in disaster. Sometimes it's better to play it safe anyway.

This too. Won't be looking for Freddie in future Fury fights.

Simple answer is that young Ben is just that "young" as far as I'm aware the boy hasn't been any kind of sportsman himself so he will fall short at the this level . But that's the problem with boxing today average fitness trainers with a small amount of knowledge are being allowed trainers licences without learning the their trade first . Coaching is different from training and you have to learn the full game in boxing to excel at world level . If manny steward were still alive wlad would have beaten Joshua , no disrespect to banks but he were not experienced on the night of that fight . A little knowledge is a dangerous thing I'm afraid ..
