It's always interesting to look at the punch stats after the fight. 2 rounds that I gave to Wilder Fury outlanded him in both jabs & power shots. I scored it 113-113 with the 2 KDs being the difference. Fury won 7 rounds on my card but a case can be made when looking at the punch totals that he won 9 rounds. Watching live I had it 7-5...

Fury has nothing to complain about-the decision was correct.

113-113. That's a 115-113 fight for Fury minus 2 points for the knockdowns. So 7 rounds for Fury and 5 for Wilder. Fury definitely won rounds 3 and 10. Wilder definitely won rounds 9 and 12. The other 8-any of them could have gone either way, so it's not a stretch that Wilder, being the aggressor, could have taken 3 other rounds. Or even 5. So the 113-113 makes sense and the 115-111 makes sense. There was no robbery.

All three of the announcers were completely in the tank for Fury. The entire pre-show and all the commentary between the warm-up fights was a gushing love-fest for Fury. During the fight every little jiggle he made they oohed and aahed and if he landed a punch, no matter how insignificant, you would have thought it was the next coming of Mike Tyson. I re-watched the fight with no sound on and it was interesting how different it seemed. Wilder did more than you may have thought. I watched carefully and came up with 113-113. Then just for fun I turned up the sound and turned my back and just listened. Without seeing it, and just listening to the three stooges, one would have thought Wilder was being absolutely destroyed.

Fury landed 13 more punches total, and that's being hailed as further proof of how bad he schooled Wilder. But the entire 13 punch advantage was due to rounds 3 and 10. The rest of the fight he did little to nothing except for the two rounds he got knocked on his can.

I'm not sure why anyone would want Fury as a fixture in the sport. He's boring. All he does is try to clown and stymie the opponent, and land a few potshots, hoping to eke out the decision. Just like Bernard Hopkins late in his career. He's even more boring than late-career Klitchko was. At least Klitchko had some punching power and didn't act like a buffoon.

Wilder came in 10 pounds lighter than usual, and he was definitely a little bit off his game. Fury was one clean punch away from being unconscious and several punches that would have done that barely missed. If there's a rematch, Wilder will get the job done and cold-conk Fury.

Teddy Atlas says Fury won...that means Fury won

end of discussion. I can't stand Fury, but he won that fight easily.
