I can see a draw being justified. I can definitely see a Fury win. A Wilder win would have been a robbery. That scorecard was way off.

[Let's Settle This!] Was Fury robbed of a W?

I wish I kept an RBR like I usually do. The fight surprised the daylights out of me. When I saw Fury stepping into the ring, with those skinny legs and fatrolls on top of his midsection, I thought he's getting knocked out by the 4th. He also moved around a lot less than he did vs. Klitchko, mostly focusing on upper body movement.
Wilder did very poorly though. I've always defended his use of the patented 'windmills', because 95% of the time he uses them when his opponent is in trouble, and it's more of a finisher. He tried to use a few against Fury and it was cringeworthy. I was surprised that Fury didn't sidestep them and then nail Wilder with an uppercut - Wilder was wide open for it.
I'll rewatch the fight and score it later, however Fury dominated the vast majority of that fight. I remember thinking that Wilder may have stolen 2 rounds in the middle, don't remember if the 1st KD round was one of them. At most, I think I'll have it 8-4 Fury + 2 KD. That's a final score of 114-112 Fury. Boxingscene livescorecard is one round off, 115-111, which I have no problems with either.

Can you add a simple, yes or no. My god why such biased poll? If I vote NO its almost the same as saying wilder deserved the win. Wich is not the case in my opinion

I agree he won the fight but I also believed that his chin is what cost him the fight also. He was floored hard twice by Deontay Wilder. You can't expect to take a champion's title away from him in his own backyard by being decked to the canvas twice.
Also, when you factor in, that there were a lot of close rounds and many of them were hard to score due to inactivity. Then Tyson only has himself to blame for not walking away with that victory and title. You have to take the fight to the champion and take the title away from him.
Well at least in the eyes of the three judges Tyson Fury didn't do that.

I watched the bout with friends; we agreed that Wilder won 3 rounds before the 9th but I can't remember which ones. They were close rounds for sure; if I gave Wilder only 2 rounds then Fury wins 114-112.

Even the rounds that Fury got knocked down in, he won.

Apart from about 40 seconds of the whole fight, Fury completely outclassed Wilder and exposed his clear limitations for the world to see. The main thing we have learned from the fight is Wilder is not a elite fighter he is basically a crude swinger with a leaky defence and great punch. We also now know that even a half fit without a proper fight in years Fury is still a nightmare for anyone in boxing. I would say Joshua and Fury are 1 and 2 with Povetkin the 3rd best heavy at the moment and then Wilder, Whyte and Parker making up the rest of the top 6. I doubt Wilder will want a rematch with an even fitter, faster and sharper Fury and theres a big chance of him getting beat by all the others top men so i expect him to restart his Bum Squad tour and handpick some more old men and fringe contenders.Last edited by hogey; 12-03-2018, 06:38 AM.
