If he was playing possum, he was playing a dangerous game. Because a lot of refs wouldn’t have even bothered counting. I personally think after the KD in the ninth, Fury thought he had felt the best Wilder had to offer and he was still awake. That’s why he fought more aggressively from then on. I think he went down amazed at how hard this little guy had just hit him.
As for Wilder’s next fight. I absolutely think he should press for the Fury rematch, if AJ isn’t next. He made a lot of correctable mistakes. The biggest being spending the majority of the night staring at Fury doing nothing, looking for an opening to land one big shot.
He could also fight Whyte, assuming he beats Chisora. However, Wilder isn't trying to do anything that benefits Hearn. At least Whyte would be easier than Ortiz or Fury.
I still think AJ/Miller and Wilder/Whyte should happen on the same night.Last edited by kiaba360; 12-02-2018, 02:23 AM.Comment

With two KDs and no even rounds, Fury would have to win eight rounds to win the fight. If my math is correct, he’d win 114-110. If he wins seven, it becomes a 113-113 draw. Which is why I hate the ten point must system. It gives too big a bonus for scoring a KD. Especially when you’re only fighting ten or twelve rounds. Either way, in a fight where neither fighter is having a lot of offensive success. Judges tend to lean towards the aggressive fighter. Even if the aggression isn’t effective.Comment

Of course he can more than before this fight. But based on this result he did not get more leverage to negotiate a better deal with AJ. He sc****d by. If he beat Fury by KO - his stock would have gone up significantly. Surviving controversially against what probably should have been a Fury's points win does not get you any significant leverage. And Hearn knows that. And if there is a rematch in the UK, Wilder will only see the AJ fight if AJ decides to give it to him as a charity. No way Wilder would have won that fight in the UK. He, in the opinion of so many, shouldn't have won in the US. So, yeah, he should have taken the AJ fight. He would have a better chance of winning and would have made way more money than fighting Fury.Comment
