I see a lot of support for Ukranian fighters from Eastern European/Ukranian fans.

It's not right.

How come they don't root for black fighters? Or Mexican fighters? Or British fighters?

They should support boxers and choose the best style and then be a fan, not be a fan just because they're from the same country or region.

Only thing I agree with is the last part. Ukrainians shouldn't feel obligated root for a boxer from the Ukraine. However, if they do, then that's their choice. If there are those that don't, then that's their choice as well. Neither are racist.

What is up with all these nationality, origin and ethnic boxing threads? It's called tribalism. It's a known fact that people tend to root for individuals, who share similar backgrounds, values and ones who closely resemble and look like them. There's nothing wrong with that. It's the way of the world. It's been like that since the beginning of boxing.

If they openly root against fighters because of their color or country then they are. If they root for their countryman they are not unless they discriminate their racial background.
