That's exactly it and why I don't get why people get mad the fight is at $75 bucks and not $65 bucks or in this case $40 bucks. Now, is there a certain cut off? Absolutely, but it's not from $65 to $75. Would more people buy it at $40 instead of $75? Possibly, but close to double as many buys? No way.
Over/Under 97k buys this weekend for Wilder-Fury?

So how come when they like to rip in to Anthony Joshua they talk about his figures based on Sky and tickets. Joshua is selling his fights around the world but the haters only talk about UK figures but now we are talking about Fury Wilder they are wanting to take into account USA and the UK?
It very much sounds like team Wilder have their fingers crossed that Fury is a draw in the UK so they can save face a little bit. Im sure they will claim all those PPV's in the UK are British based Wilder fans, which was proven when he was adored that time in Northern Ireland. Although from what i saw the footage was doctored to give a sense of fame and i just saw loads of people singing Furys name and Wilder just got water and chicken chucked at him.Comment

My cutoff is probably $100 just out of principle. I remember going to a sports bar a while back to watch a PPV thinking I'd save money. With food for the wife and I we spent the exact same as we would have watching the PPV in the comfort of our own homes, so we decided we would just order at home with our own food. That's exactly it and why I don't get why people get mad the fight is at $75 bucks and not $65 bucks or in this case $40 bucks. hell, if we have people over for the fight, the price gets cut in half. Problem solved. Maybe they just don't have friends in the UK

What other countries is AJ a draw in other than the UK? Nobody in North America watched him fight Povetkin live.So how come when they like to rip in to Anthony Joshua they talk about his figures based on Sky and tickets. Over. From what I have been hearing Haymon is marketing the fight most heavily to the young urban demographic through urban radio formats.
IMO he needs more mainstream marketing to reach all communities.
Fight will do more than 97k but I doubt it does more than 300-350k.Comment

I think if it does 200k, then Haymon better have negotiated a deal with the cable distributors like the UFC did where he gets 70% of the profits instead of splitting it 50/50. If it is even 60-65%, it could work, but the usual 50/50 split and there will be a loss on the fight.Comment

Yeah, that's fair. I don't think they can get away from pricing a PPV over $100. And only $100 for the absolute biggest events of all time ala Mayweather/McGregor or Mayweather/Pacquiao. They can't even do the rematch at that price point. My cutoff is probably $100 just out of principle. I remember going to a sports bar a while back to watch a PPV thinking I'd save money. I'm trying to think of the last Mayweather fight that I paid for...if it wasn't Maidana then it goes all the way back to Cotto. Damn lolComment
