Also, jabs are not equal to clean power punches, especially measuring jabs.Last edited by TonyGe; 11-25-2018, 03:09 AM.

He is easily the best pro Boxer at cheating. Nobody seems to be able to get away with the stuff he does.

Notice in the first fight when Golovkin got his jab working Canelo retreated to the ropes. He disrupted Canelo's rhythm with the jab. He scored points with it when Canelo was on the ropes and he flushed Canelo out of the pocket with his jab. Those are the some of the things Canelo's power punches were supposed to do if they were to be considered effective. He could not put Golovkin's back to the ropes with his power punches. He could not move Golovkin to where he wanted with his power punches. Golovkin won that fight and the second one.
Canelo seemed to tire after round 4. He was still being very elusive and in position to counter, but he was not letting his hands go as much or as sharp. Alvarez was attempting to lure Golovkin to the ropes so he could counter off them as we have seen Canelo do so well in many lf his fights, but Golovkin new better than to try to fight Canelo with his back against the ropes. Notice how Canelo invites GGG to exchange with him, but GGG keeps his distance and instead throws weaker punches just to score until Canelo gets off the ropes again.
Why didn't he bum rush Canelo like he did Brook? He knew he can't match Canelo's speed and would get caught.
Perhaps you got the impression GGG put Canelo against the ropes because you're not used to seeing many fighters fight effectively going back, its not easy, so naturally you assume no fighter would want to fight this way, but if you've seen Canelo fights you know he often purposely walks back to the ropes attempting to bait his opponent to exhange with him to get him with his counters.
Ask yourself, if GGG wanted him against the ropes why wouldn't he do anything once Canelo was there?
In the championship rounds Canelo obviously dug deep and had his second wind taking charge again.
You say Canelo didn't fight his fight in the rematch because Golovkin didn't have his back against the ropes? Putting a fighters back against the ropes is not a scoring criteria. Not every fighter wants to have his opponent with his back against the ring, especially if you're a counter puncher who prefers your opponent to swing big so you can get your counter in.
Canelo kept the fight in the center, where he seemed he wanted it, so he can stay in the pocket but still have a full diameter to use his defense and angles. Its evident in either round 11 or 12 where GGG is in retreat and Canelo motions him to get to the center of the ring so they can engage each other.
Not every fighter, not every pressure fighter, not every power boxer wants his opponents back against the ropes, that's ridiculous to assume a fighter is not in control because the fight never went to the ropes.Last edited by Snowballer; 11-25-2018, 02:41 PM.

However when fighters get in the ring it's about what both guys do. When a fighter switches up his style if he feels it's appropriate it shouldn't be held against him if what he does is effective. The simple fact was Canelo avoided exchanging with Golovkin gave up the center of the ring, and couldn't control the pace of the fight. He stuck to a game plan that wasn't working. He got out pointed. If you recall Canelo said he would KO Golovkin. He didn't so by your logic he should be deducted points. He could not take away Golovkin's jab which he also failed to do in the second fight. Again by your logic he should be deducted points. The fact that Canelo didn't go to the ropes in the second fight by your logic should be held against him because he's used that tactic in the past and it was sucessful just as Golovkin has attacked the body in the past. The guy lost both fights on points. He was outboxed by Golovkin both times. The first time he lost by 4 rounds the second was closer but other than some facial swelling on Golovkin Canelo was the one who faded late in the fight and was hurt. The second was a good fight and I commend Canelo for giving it his all but he came up short IMO and the opinion of most knowledge boxing writers. Yes the judges got it wrong both times.
Jabkin did not " switch up " his style you muppet
he was limited to the performance you saw
Sanchez was telling him to fight Canelo, but he couldn't
he was in survival mode
Golovkin turned timid..... he kept them hands at home when he realized how sharp Canelo was, just like Chavez did..... and just like he did when he squeezed past Danny Jacobs
just like I said would happen
the fat red kid will lite that boy up like a christmas tree

Win or lose i just want to see Canelo fight the best. You notice GGG fans NEVER want that??? They want Vanes and EASY KO's every fight.
When Canelo ko's Jacobs it will be he had a weak chin yet he pretty much took GGG's best shots minus one knockdown but finished strong and a lot of people think Jacobs won me included!
Charlo shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence! He has faught nobody in the top ten even at 160 yet alone really at 154 either! Compare resumes!!
Canelo resume to any of the middleweights!
Canelo should beat Fields I think rather easily! Remember he fought Chavez at 164.5 and looked great. Chavez is a big boy and definitely hits harder then Fields!
Very soon we will see but I want Canelo to move back down stop Jacobs 1st then Andrade and then possibly Charlo but Charlo has to fight a real fight first IMO.
I would love to see Charlo vs GGG! I say GGG wins by KO or points but clearly wins!
If that happens then GGG gets the rematch but will not win regardless.
GGG couldn't deal with Canelo's defense in first fight and offence in 2nd. Now Canelo knows he can beat him either way will do more counters but probably fight more like the first fight if he is smart just throwing more combos.

Also your recollection is incorrect and probably biased. He had huge amounts on one test. He’s a cheat and that’s fine just learn to live with it.
Get over it already!
He was clean for both fights! Fact!
