But in recent years, Kovalev has lost three of his last five fights - and two of those defeats have been by knockout.

Everyone looks good when fighting bums. The real test comes when you step up the class. Kovalev is a good fighter but not a world beater. He will get knocked out again because he has a soft belly.

It makes sense and I still only consider Kovalev to have one legitimate loss.

That said, I don't think one can be elite at his age after suffering such a KO as he did in the Alvarez fight. Let's see if he can prove me wrong.

I remember how he handled and stopped a very game and durable Pascal twice. Why couldn't he do the same to Alvarez? Probably because he was then undefeated and full of confidence till the KO loss to ward...
because Pascal and Alvarez are the same fighter?

because a 31 year old Kov and a 35 year old Kov are the same thing?

He wasn't up on the cards but his effort wasn't pathetic either. Kovalev actually pushed the pace more in that fight and was more active. Then he made some mental mistakes like turning southpaw for that one instance and then turning back to orthodox. Mentally he broke down that fight more than anything.

I feel like Ward caused him to burn energy being emotional ever during lead up to fight...He was doing alot of whining etc.

Nope, down on two cards 66-67 and up on one card 68-65.

Would have taken you literally 20 seconds of research to figure that out.
