Kovalev should have finished Ward in the first fight, he lost the decision (unfairly IMO) and basically lost his faith /hunger for the sport.

Nobody is scared of Krusher now, Ward sneaked in and broke his heart.

Kovalev crumbles when the going gets tough. Happens twice now.

Obliviously kathy Duva has never taken a punch in the face or the body. those blows will take your stamina no matter how hard or how little you train. stop with the excuses, Kovalev goes down even quicker this time around.

I said it before and I'll say it agin, Kovalev was untested and overhyped. He throws the same combo's over and over, never been tested to the distance.

He never fought anybody until he started losing. Hopkins was for real 49 years old. Pascal is an overhyped juice head thats undersized for SMW nevermind LHW. Cleverly is a Eurobum and Chilemba is a b- level fighter.

Regarding overtraining, I overtrained my entire AM's Boxing career and it only effected me in the 10 years after I stopped. All top Boxers over-train to varying degree's. Train hard you get in shape thats how it works. What Duva is saying is injury related. Rest has nothing to do with lungs and stamina. Rest is for muscles, tendons, etc to prevent injuries.

Duva don't know what the hell she's talking about and even if she does, she's just trying to hype Kovalev up so she can keep getting paid.
I agree. What I was saying is that overtraining WOULD/DOES make sense, but the likely culprit is his alcoholism, or like you said, his step up in opponents (or both)

but if he comes out and takes Alvarez the distance and dominates, I'll change my tune. But I don't see that happening.

Against Alvarez, he started well, but faded even faster, and got beat by the better guy.

Kovalev never used to have these stamina issues, but he got them now, age is a factor so I don't expect them to complete go even with the new team around him
In the 2nd Ward fight Kovalev was winning up until when exactly?? I ask that because if you are going by the judges prior to the stoppage, Kovalev was down on 2 cards but if you are just basing it solely on the way you saw the fight then so be it

I guess we'll never know if Kov has suffered natural aging or alcohol and other abuse which has left him where he's at now. He did look done in last fight and in Ward II. Slower punches, no punch resistance, terrible stamina. Could be serious injury if he goes thru with rematch.

We all know Hometown Ward get at least a 4 round head start with the judges.

Kovalev out landed Ward in 6 of the 7 previous round prior to the low blow stoppage.

I saw it different. The 2nd fight I saw Ward control the pace and Kovalev regularly being countered for fun. If you are being honest with yourself Kovalev was complaining about low balls from as early as the 5th round. His body language was atrocious that fight. His belief and stamina was beginning to Wilt.

Ward caught Kovalev with a peach of a punch in the 8th. Kovalev didn’t have the conditioning to recover( he abused his body you know this) This was my own take of the fight but now you show me the compubox stats my take has changed. Thank you very much. The reliability of compubox can never be questioned when you consider how data is gathered. Goodbye
