But Parker seemed on the verge of KOing Whyte in that last rd.
I guess there aren't many really good HWs now. Fury just a shell of 3 years ago.

Do hope AJ and DW do it next year, but I wouldn't bet on it happening.
Whyte isn’t nearly as good as he’s ranked. If Whyte goes in with a hard puncher he’s done. Especially since he gasses himself out every fight.

I agree. That's why I indicated who else is there besides AJ and DW?

I guess that's why Usyk is jumping in. He's obviously an excellent boxer. But against a 250 lb AJ? Or the right hand of DW?

Actually Usyk might have a better chance to last vs Wilder than current Fury, IMO.

Usyk, Wilder, Fury and Joshua are the top of the class. There are some good HW prospects coming down the pipeline. Just a waiting game as the division improves.

I think Ortiz deserves to be there too.
Was within a hair of defeating Wilder. And got some help from the ref and then the officials at the start of the next rd. I hadn't seen that before.

I’ve seen it. Happens in NYC since the citylost lawsuit (fighter died) so a doctor will check a guy who’s taken a lot of punishment at the start of the round. If he feels the guy can’t go (eyes glazed, concussion signs) the fight stops. The doctor can’t do it during the time between rounds since each guy is alloted 60 seconds with their corner man.

Thank you. I wonder how many times they've used this new rule?

I’ve seen it once or twice. I’d ask the user WBC_WBA_IBF since he knows far more on the NY law than I do.

Pretty sure it’s only a couple years old though.

Also, I thought wilder was really hurt when I watched the fight too, but when I watched it a second time he seemed 100% fine, walked to the corner on stable legs shaking his head.

Thanks. I will have to watch it again
I recall Dundee saying he knew then Clay would become champ from his recuperative power after the knock down vs Doug Jones. But Ali never fought him again.

Did he get knocked down against Jones? I think you’re the honking of the Cooper fight (was right after the Jones fight) Ali got knocked down and saved by the bell. Dundee cut Ali’s glove to buy time in the corner.

Sorry I meant Sonny Banks not Doug Jones. Though many thought Jones beat Clay and he didn't get a rematch as noted.

But that quick recovery vs Banks is what Dundee thought showed Clay would become champ.
