There of course be those who call it a cherry pick, but so was the Ortiz fight and that was a fight he almost lost. Fact is even a 50% Fury is probably the 2nd best fighter Wilder would of fought to date and so this is far from a risk free fight.
How was Ortiz a cherry pick? It was an optional defense against a top 5 HW who was considered the boogeyman of the division (regardless of if you think he is now, that was a legit claim at the time) everyone and their mother was saying Wilder shouldn’t have done it.

Actually Ortiz looked like ass vs Scott and Allen and his stock had dropped a lot prior to that fight getting made

then his stock went back up to legitimize wilders win over him

If Wilder wins it'll be hailed as a career defining win by a some and discredited as a cherry pick over a washed up former champ by others. We won't really know which is true unless or until we see Fury subsequently fight someone with a pulse and even then there'll always be a spin...

But let's not let that awkward fact get in the way of all the fun y'all gonna have arguing about which narrative is the true one....

Your mistake is assuming everyone will have those same conclusions.

Some of us actually give credit when and where due.

Fury is also not past it in any way. Wilder will lose, so this topic is in a way, irrelevant.

            Fury beats them both easy.
You're giving Wilder too much credit. His right hand is very good but his other punches are **** average.

You think not fighting anyone with a pulse in 3 years and gaining and losing 120+ lbs, won't affect him at all? You know nothing.

Which major boxing orgs/sites recognise this "lineal title" larry?

Really sad that you've resorted to swallowing the marketing. Nobody recognises Fury as lineal champ anymore.

aww they caught themselves a larry hook line and sinker. if zsolt erdei wasn't lineal champ when he fought dennis grachev why would fury be champ now? you seem to struggle with the past tense of things. he was champ. he was good. now hes not. dont let them take advantage of you like that. things change
