All the fighters/experts are saying Fury isn't the same fighter and hasn't had enough tune ups. Wilder wins then he beat a past it Fury, he loses he's a laughing stock. Happy cherry picking Deontay.
Wilder is in a no win situation fighting Fury.

It depends on how he wins. If he KOs Tyson early and doesn’t get made to look like a fool by Fury’s boxing skills people will give him a LOT of credit. Or if he gets up of the canvas to win... you’re making too broad a statement when anything could happen in this fight.
Regardless Wilder basically has nowhere to go but up. You could have made the same argument about his fight with Ortiz, but it raised his profile big time.Comment

This is exactly the reason Joshua didn't go chasing the fight even though it would be massive. There's no credit for beating this Fury, should have waited to see if he was still a top fighter.Comment

I dont blame Wilder for taking the fight but its clear to me Fury isnt what he was.
Frank Warren saw it in pianeta and seferi fights and decided to go straight to the cash out
The original plan was 4-5 fights steady progression but that went out the window. Fury is playing at boxing now, not a good move.Comment

I don't know if he's in a no win situation. There are enough delusional Fury fans out there who actually believe that just because he lost a bunch of weight and had two tune up fights ( one of which was against a midget cruiserweight, the other against a guy who isn't even in the top 100) that he can beat Wilder. If Wilder does lose it would be a huge embarrassment, and the epitome of a cherry pick gone wrong, but I don't see that happening.Comment

His stock already went tremendously from booking the fight. Can't imagine where it'll be after a win. This "no-win" talk sounds like cries of desperation. Let go of your hate for the guy and you'll feel so much better.Comment

It is a calculated move because Fury is still a name, just like Klitschko was a name when Joshua took that risk. The reward should be great for Wilder once he stops Fury, but he has to win though and do it looking good.I don't know if he's in a no win situation. Yeah that's how I see it. He'll get credit for a decent win, arguably it would be his best win depending upon how much you think Fury has left and how good you think Ortiz is.
There of course be those who call it a cherry pick, but so was the Ortiz fight and that was a fight he almost lost. Fact is even a 50% Fury is probably the 2nd best fighter Wilder would of fought to date and so this is far from a risk free fight.Comment
