I personally thought he was the real deal and the legit number 1 a lot sooner than that but I was definitely in the minority.
Agree on universal respect. There’s always a silly but vocal minority. And then there was also the argument that Holyfield beat the man. But the comparison in this thread is dumb. And OP is making a lot of threads like that lately.

Here's the thing, they will NEVER give AJ any credit until he retires and he's no longer a "threat" and then maybe they might give hin some begrudging respect.

Basically what they are saying is after winning 4 belts, beating klitschko, becoming the 2nd biggest draw in boxing is this

"he has to go to america, give in to wilders crazy demands and deal with the vegas judging if he wants any respect from me"

meanwhile Wilder gets respect for doing nothing.

Thing is even if he does that, they will then just change the goalposts

"everyone KNEW Wilder ******, nobody rated him, it's an average win in a **** division"

      "prime tyson DESTROYS him"

It won't ever change so to any AJ fans i advise don't get caught in circular communication with these guys, they won't ever change their opinions no matter what he does, so just enjoy his career and ignore these muppets.
Rid**** Bowe? He was a lazy fat scared bum.

I can't speak on how the US fans felt about Lewis but the media at the time were not enamoured with him as far as I recall.
Too much backfoot boxing for a guy that big and powerful seemed to be the general complaint.

The US media were against him his whole career including the Vitali fight.

He had very few US "fans" too

They are only bigging him up now to support their argument

why would he be a top 10 atg heavyweight??

why do ya'll keep trying to count the IBO as a major title??

Why keep bragging about Wlad who was 41 coming off of a loss and a 2 year layoff??

why do ya'll want everyone to suck him off when he hasnt even proven himself as a hall of fame fighter yet

If Wlad is a big win, so is beating Fury.

Fury is just a win needed to get him out of the way, Nothing earth shattering about it

AJ should just fight Wilder then and stop lining up fights with Miller and Cruiserweight Usyk. AJ is much better than Wilder so his continued avoidance wreaks of fear of his power.

                      Come on man...

Fury retired and became a fat drug addicted slob

Wlad was still the second best in the division at the time Joshua beat him, Im not even sure current fury is top 10.
