BS. Lenox got better as time went on and he fought and earned respect because he wanted and fought whatever top guys were around when he was active.

AJ has a long way to go. Just because he is popular don't make him the best. He is the currently the best HW out there but there is a couple of guys that he has to face.

Lenox and Wlad cleaned out the division

Thank you. We’re at the point where he’s making up stuff to defend this silly thread. Lennox was and is well-respected.

He earned his credit by beating Holyfield and Tyson. Fact is before then most of his detractors were American critics and they needed to see him beat their best to give him the credit he was due, which only increased after he retired which is pretty normal for any fighter that was underrated during their time.

AJ will need to do the same and beat the best American in the form of Wilder.

True, though people still accuse Lennox of ducking Byrd, Ruiz and Wlad, but we don't listen to those people because they are idiots.

Lennox had his respect before then but the first Holyfield did indeed push him over the edge. You had to respect everything he did, really.

How dare America expect Lennox to fight Evander before kissing his ass! How dare America not suck Joshua's nob before he fights Wilder!

              Clearly America is entitled.

Unfortunately, you don’t get to attribute your slant on others. Certainly Tyson was shot, but Lewis’ body of work was impressive, he was on US TV all the time and drew a crowd. He was well, well respected. A post tying him back to Joshua for selfish purposes won’t change that. Let it go and try a new thread.

He was respected by some but he didn't get the universal respect until after he beat Holyfield from the hardcore fans and didn't get universal respect from the casuals until he beat Tyson.

Things started to change for him after the Golota win, when HBO themselves were rooting for Golota to KO Lewis and people again saw him as a serious threat and a possible number 1 again.

I personally thought he was the real deal and the legit number 1 a lot sooner than that but I was definitely in the minority.

Tyson was shot for sure, Holyfield was still a top heavyweight for both Lewis fights, faded true but still would of been favoured over anyone not named Lewis.
