Kauffman didn't look good against Alexander. He got dropped & was lucky to escape with a close win. A case can be made he lost. Ortiz is a huge step up from Alexander. I don't see it ending well for Kauffman. Kauffman is a C+ level fighter. Ortiz has a few good wins but is still somewhat unproven in my opinion. His best win is Bryant Jennings so I won't put him in the same class as the top guys. He looks to be a top guy but has not been able to get the big fights to prove it. It should be an easy night for Ortiz.

That was a Kauffman quote. Boxing Scene just did not use the quotation marks correctly.

Yeah, I am onboard with you. I am sure Ortiz was chomping at the bit to get the Dillian Whyte match, but he was being used to get the better deal and was never really in the mix. Ortiz settled for a club level fighter on a pay per view to look good. He will. Ortiz should blow this guy out. I respect Kauffman for carving out a living and raising his kids (I was a single dad for a long time, so I really respect Fathers who step up instead of bail), but he is a warm body and nothing more.

Ortiz needs 2019 to be a bigger year for him. He is running out of chances to prove he is top level. I am a fan, but it is sad to see him waste years chasing fighters who just say no.

Wilder knocked him out in a voluntary defence so unless he gets a WBC mandatory position he is not getting a rematch. He has no fanbase & brings little money to the table. He has no choice but to go through the rankings to get positioning for an eliminator.

Not exactly. Ortiz got popped for a steroid then later got popped for a medication that just happened to contain a couple of masking agents.

Does Ortiz even have high blood pressure?

Might want to give the writer a drug test himself.

What do you mean not exactly? That is EXACTLY what happened. The medication didn't have a couple of masking agents, the drug itself can be a masking agent for urineanalysis. Why would anyone go for a masking agent for urine only when they do blood and urine?

I’m no expert on the ways of drug testing but I do know that Ortiz failed twice not once and that first fail was for a steroid. I’m going to stick with “not exactly”.

The 2nd fail was cleared because it was blood pressure medication that was prescribed by a legit doctor. Blood pressure medicine would be a PED (but not really) to someone that does Archery because it SLOWS you down. Comprende?

because he could take a masking agent for blood as well as another one for urine ? dont be purposefully naive
