"Hatman", who made it for his YT channel, is a black British boxing fan and an intelligent, perceptive guy, who has spent time in the US.

One point he makes repeatedly is that racism in the UK does exist, but is more "nuanced" and complicated than the simple black vs white variety that Wilder has probably experienced in the US.
Excellent post! I was going to subject myself to more of the craziness in this thread when this sane post came up.

In fact all racism is "nuanced." When we attempt to quantify who is more, or less racist, it sounds very believable until one digs much deeper. I am a New Yorker and when I first lived in Baltimore I thought I had gone to the Antebellum South! I never had experienced so much racial strife, and I had grown up in a Spanish and Black hood! in East Harlem.

Then, when I met my wife from Louisiana, during our honeymoon in New Orleans we went to this restaurant where all the Waiters were black and spoke like ******...I 5h1t you not! The carnelia grill, or some thing...I refused to go into the place. Thought it was the most rascist place in the world, the deep south....

Then a funny thing happened, we lived down there a while. I worked as a bar manager for a well to do white restaurant owner with a mostly black kitchen scullery staff. Well, they all loved me because they could see I was not a racist but there is more to this story...the black guys were very poor and had families they were part of. The owner of the restaurant knew the families and made sure things were ok. This meant giving the guys pay advances, sending food home with them, even giving them extra sometimes. The whole system is such that people, even in a different caste, look out for each other. Is it racist? I don't know...I do know that where I grew up you got your paycheck and good luck. The whole community was that way, people would look after each other, financially, and otherwise when necessary.

So is the UK more racist than the US South? Is it really something we can quantify? I don't think so. I do think that to be fair, When we talk about ******s we have to make a distinction between the type of immigrants that want to assimilate, whether ******, or not, and immigrants that are hostile to the dominant culture, whether they are ******, ***ish settlers, etc. There is a difference.

Are the most popular fighters ever! in the UK. And you know who's one of the most hated? that's right, Tyson Fury

Deontay Wilder by own admission got more love from the fans in Belfast than he ever got anywhere in the states, and now he's saying they hate him?

This fool is as dumb as a doorknob and something is wrong upstairs.
And this is why I don't like Wilder on a personal level.
He's still a bad a55 fighter and will KO Fury and Joshua though.

Important? How you work that out? The #1 HW just beat the #3, i'd say that was more important than the #2 fighting someone that has gained and lost 100lbs+ since he last fought a good opponent.

If ******s weren't prohibited from drinking alcohol they would assimilate better in Britain, imo. Alcohol plays a role in most social events and interactions in the UK.

I remember a US boxing journalist - might have been Radio Raheem - asking Eddie Hearn why the fans at his shows were so loud and passionate. Hearn's reply .. "Most of them are drunk!"

Obviously, he has some deep seated insecurities about his color and race because he is an American; Where white privilege is the norm and being non-white you are not considered part of the mainstream society.

Wilder misspoke and his sentiments were misdirected. He didn't mean what he said. Perhaps, it's the hype and pressures of a potential Anthony Joshua fight that made him say what he said. It was done in the heat of the moment.

Lastly, how can Deontay call a country racist that had shown nothing but love the last time he visited there? So what he said was not a direct contradiction or disrespect of the people of the U.K. Whatsoever.

He probably said what he said because he is mentally fatigued and needs rest. That's why he is probably reluctant in discussing these Joshua negotiations.
It’s the same in the UK though, white people are the mainstream because they are the majority.

I’m mixed race, so i’m on both sides. White population is going down though, America for the first time in it’s history won’t be a white majority country in the next couple of years. That’s what current birth rates are showing. London will be the same

In the Uk it’s meh and subtle.
I’d say though if you’re a white western women living in the UK or US, you’ve won the lottery. As they are the most privileged and protected group in human history
