It just makes too much sense Golden Boy already sent a offer to Hearn/Jacobs a few months ago as a backup for Sept if GGG refused to fight. Canelo is on DAZN, Hearn is on the DAZN, Jacobs is not signed with any network, it's unification fight, it will sell. But one comment makes me worried

“If the Canelo money isn’t right, we’ll definitely look to Charlo, and Danny would be more than willing to fight Charlo. If Jermall Charlo wants the fight, Danny definitely wants that. At this point, it’s about making the best specific deal for Danny, because he’s probably got maybe four years left of these prime fights where he’s young enough to win them. We want to fight Canelo, but only if the money is right."

They already talking about money and we won't fight Canelo unless it's right. Jacobs just fought for 1M this weekend and fought GGG for a career high 1.75M. Look at his fan attendance this weekend and every fight since GGG it's lackluster. He will easily get a career high payday offer from Canelo and more then he can get fighting GGG or Charlo but if he starts making ****** demands Canelo will tell him phuk off. Remember the GGG/Jacobs fight dragged on and missed multiple deadlines and the fight date kept getting pushed back because Jacobs haggled with GGG over 500K. Canelo is not pushing his May date back or letting a B side Jacobs tell him shyt about money and if he tries to haggle to much he won't get the date and Canelo will fight someone else who wants a career payday.
As you point out there is no shortage of fighters who want a career payday from Canelo. Jacobs can fight Canelo for more than $5million or fight Charlo for chump change and maybe get knocked out and then become the forgotten man of the division along with GGG.

I'm starting to think he signs to espn cuz there is no threat there. At dazn you have Jacobs (maybe), Andrade & Nelo. Nelo paid him twice so his pockets are okay, I doubt he would fight Jacobs again & I don't think he would fight a tall, skilled southpaw in Andrade. He'll probably fight the Japanese dude on espn move up in weight if Nelo stays at 168 or just retire very soon....LOL

Let's hope Jacobs realizes he's the B side and he won't be dictating anything as far as a fight against Canelo goes...
So let's hope he doesn't start asking for a 40% or 50% split cause Canelo will tell him to fucc off and rightfully so!
Jacobs can't be totally ******, but you never know. He will convince people that he is the A side in the Canelo fight if he signs a contract worth more than $365 million with DAZN in the next few weeks and he puts bodies in more than 60,000 seats in Yankee Stadium in his next fight with someone not named Canelo Alvarez -- otherwise he remains the B- or C+ side.

Hope I'm wrong, but I dont think Canelo will be back at 160. If he wins against Fielding he's got big payday options at 168 for Cinco de Mayo in all Mexican fights. Zurdo and Benavidez are fights that would sell big to Latinos. If Canelo wanted Andrade or Charlo they would have already happened, high risk low reward. Jacob's might hit the Canelo lottery, but I would be surprised.

Danny and I never make a decision without us talking it over with Al and checking on his insight. Al doesn’t do anything without me knowing about it and I don’t do anything without Al knowing about it. We always do what’s best for Danny as a team. Al and I usually agree on things 99.9 percent of the time. We never make any major decisions without both of us agreeing on it.”

“At the end of the day, Al and I always have the same equation with all of these fighters,” said Connolly. “We give them the best advice that we can, and, ultimately, we always allow them to do what they think is in the best interest of their careers.

            and there it is.....

newer fans need to take note:

FACT: fighters have the last word on their career path

they sign off on EVERY fight, and EVERY opponent

to suggest otherwise is utter bollocks

I first noticed the " but Arum doe " excuses with Pacquiao

to justify Pac's shltty Top Rank in-house opponent selection

then I saw that excuse shift to Haymon, and others

            what utter bollocks

every single fighter is 100% responsible - therefore accountable - for their own resume

for proof (as if you need proof to justify common-sense).....

you hear lower-level/older fighters turning down offers all the time

you also hear about fighters like Garcia being shelved or waiting out their contract..... again, that happens ALL THE TIME

you guys who have become accustomed to blaming promoters for your guys SHlTTY opponent selection are.....

please god, let the casual-fan nonsense stop

I just want Charlo to demonstrate hes the best vs the best,if he gets the Canelo fight immediately then great, but if he doesn't I want to see him vs Jacobs/Booboo/or even Deryevchenko would be a great matchup where he can try to outdo Jacobs. The 1 thing that is perfectly clear is that ggg is no longer relevant & should retire in disgrace. But bottom line these fights should get made no more excuses,I would also be more than satisfied if Jermall faces Hurd/Lara at 160 too, bottom line is Jermall can't keep waiting on the Canelo fight he can force the fight if he beats Jacobs/Booboo but if not it might be til sept next yr at soonest that the WBC would order it v canelo(I know he won't duck him like ggg did,hed be crucified)

I do agree that Arum (and possibly others) will give a fighter three options..... with two of those "options" being a joke..... in order to manipulate a fighter into taking the matchup he wants

                sure ^^

but yea..... that is not the same as a fighter having no choice

and if that happens, a fighter can always refuse..... which will lead to..... the promoter being forced to dig up better options rather than lose his fighter or earn nothing because his money-maker is taking time out..... or, the fighter buying out his contract..... or, the fighter sitting on the bench..... like many have done

WBC won't order Canelo to fight Charlo. Last time they ordered him to fight someone he moved to 154, his natural weight. Now he's fighting at 168, go figure. All that is irrelevant, I dont see Canelo facing Charlo period, or Andrade for that matter. May 5th will be Zurdo, again hope I'm wrong, just makes monetary sense.

Pac ducked floyd 4 yrs with a püssy excuse about not wanting to lose blood near a fight so only urine last 2 weeks. Arum is the king of having an entire stable of paper champs who all hold WBO belts, because as he testified in trial to :I can bribe the sanctioning orgs to get a ham sandwich ranked & sanctioned 4 my guy to cherrypick if I wanted"

Arum is the most disgraceful coward in Boxing & im no fan of any of his fighters until they prove their more than paper WBO champions by facing non WBO champs.

We know from the haymon lawsuit Golden Boy paid Khan a flat fee of exactly 6M. And Chavez said he was paid 7M flat fee and given 1 week to sign or they would move on. And both these guys are bigger draws then Jacobs. I think that's the ballpark we looking at 6-7M which would be more then 3X his career high. But if this idiot starts asking 10M or GGG type money pricing himself out then there will be no fight. GGG/Jacobs fight date was pushed back TWICE because of haggling over money. Canelo/Floyd/Oscar ect when the cash cow calls and makes you a offer you take that shyt or they say kick rocks and on to the next. Jacobs manager saying if the money ain't right he won't fight Canelo makes me think they think Jacobs is a bigger draw then he is and is willing to take less money to fight Charlo or GGG? LMAO
What is all this conjecture about. No one will fight anyone if the money isn't right. No need to project what a fighter will think is right and then argue that the fighter is pricing himself out. Recall they have an offer from GBP already. The money not being right could simply mean, make sure you factor in my IBF belt when you pay me.

All he basically said is that his #1 choice is Canelo, but they aren't going to take less than what they'd get for a Charlo or GGG fight. Simple.
