It's possible. Maybe Spence really wanted it due to just being tired of getting questioned about the fight everywhere he goes. Unfortunately, he didn't participate in the negotiations and didn't bother to know what was going on. Meanwhile, his negotiators were there just to pass the time and not really making any effort but to piss Crawford off. Who knows?
