i think by beating Washington, it'd but Joyce on a path to maybe getting some sort of title shot in a few fights.
The three times I recall the most are Pete Radamacher (who fought Floyd Patterson in his pro debut, knocking him down, before taking an L), Leon Spinks (who beat Ali in his 8th or 9th fight iirc) & Mike Tyson (who beat Berbick in his 28th fight, which sounds less impressive, but he only had 2 years in the pro game at the time & was fighting more than a lot of those guys in the 1940's).
