The washington fight would be good for Joyce. Washington isn't that good but he's been in a world title fight. if you beat him, the next logical step would be a top 15 kind of fighter.

i think by beating Washington, it'd but Joyce on a path to maybe getting some sort of title shot in a few fights.

Isn't that the plan? A title fight in a few fights? Should be interesting to see how that goes regardless of the successfulness of that plan cuz its seldom when a HW gets a quick road to the top.

The three times I recall the most are Pete Radamacher (who fought Floyd Patterson in his pro debut, knocking him down, before taking an L), Leon Spinks (who beat Ali in his 8th or 9th fight iirc) & Mike Tyson (who beat Berbick in his 28th fight, which sounds less impressive, but he only had 2 years in the pro game at the time & was fighting more than a lot of those guys in the 1940's).

Unless Ortiz is fighting someone good then this is a pretty weak undercard.

Ugghh. Big names in showcase fights. Unless they do a rematch with Lara or get Kell Brook there isn't a marquee name available for Hurd. At best we'll get that fat Polish dude Adam Kowlecki for Ortiz but I doubt it. Joyce gets some veteran American trial horse like Devin Vargas.
