I don't understand why fans would give a **** about draw and not support a winner's take over this fighter gets X while this one gets Y.

50-50 would be for those who are not confident. 75/25 for those who are. Why does either side need protected from their L?

When did prize fighting die exactly btw? Cuz I know in the bare knuckle days a winners share was the rule or at least standard. But somewhere along the way of boxing becoming less about sports & more about asses in seats & more about ratings & PPV buys with more & more people watching it a winners share died.

Not that I think thats wrong cuz it is an entertainment sport & with boxing being a every man for himself type business, unlike most sports at the business level, it makes sense for the guys who can draw to make more money.

But ideally if all the top boxers were competing under the same umbrella vs other top guys then there would be a control quality with boxing that is comparable to other sports quality control & you could do more bonus sh^t & winners share stuff I believe. With how boxing is setup today it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to have a winners share for fights that already have a winners share built in pretty much cuz the A side guy is 80/20 to win.

I'm surprised that somebody who claims to be "an insider" would resort to using Sporteck as a source.

The 50/50 split for AJ/Wlad was reported by multiple UK sources with more credibility than Sportek.

I used to have a top 3 or so guys I felt were in the running for Floyd's next fight but with that Pac fight (which I never thought was gonna be made) & then that Berto fight even more so I went off the rails on calling Floyd opponents. And I only got worse on my predictions as that McConor fight should tell you. If Floyd comes back & fights a big ass possum I wouldn't be THAT shocked.

Thats a hard road to maintain in boxing doe. There is so lil stability in opponent quality & appeal. I can see that in other sports where there is a minimal level of quality & appeal built into the sport. You kinda gotta pay the QB who keeps winning the super bowl more money. But boxers routinely go up & down in quality opponents.
