DAZN was willing to pony up the most money, it makes sense they are the ones that need the best content. Everyone could obviously use Canelo but DAZN really needs some star power, Golden Boy should be able to score some decent middleweights and it buys time for perhaps someone else to get built up.

The question I would have (and this doesn't relate to Canelo because he is essentially a finished product in terms of star power) is DAZN a big enough platform to really get GBPs other guys traction, but then again with their need for content they will likely push the hardest to make new stars.

Good for GBP, I don't know that Hearn should be worried because DAZN is a world wide platform that needs content and if they really want to be in boxing they need multiple players to really be involved but he needs to up his game if he doesn't want to be playing second fiddle.

Why are you so fixated on the same narrative of Hern having anything to do with this? didn't you read the article? it clearly states that GBP has an exclusive INHOUSE deal to promote and do what ever the hell they want with his own promotion. the article clearly states that this was a deal between Oscar and John Skipper, No where in the article they mention Eddy Hern stop being so stubborn and reed first. Oscar was serious when he said he would go directly to DAZN without the middle man. So Oscars and GBP deal is completely and separate deal stop the hate and embraced the awesome news is good for both GBP & Matchroom. I personally wish them nothing but success.

Why would Golden Boy mention Eddie Hearn in their press release? i wouldn't.

I'm not saying Eddie Hearn has anything to do with the monetary amount, contract language, or just about anything to do with this Alvarez/Golden Boy deal. i don't think he did at all. I'm saying that Eddie has to at least be cool with this deal because his deal was that he was to be the exclusive provider of Boxing content for DAZN.

I think that Oscar & Skip made a deal, once the deal was done, Skip went to Eddie and said "Hey, are you cool with GB being on DAZN". You have to remember Eddie bring Joshua to the table and his deal with DAZN is way bigger than Golden Boy.

Eddie obviously is cool with Golden Boy being on DAZN and sharing the platform.

With that being said, Boxing wins with this deal. The money makers in Boxing (Joshua/Alvarez) are on the same platform.

Had this deal been signed in England then perhaps what you all are saying, that this deal was Eddie's call would have had more credibility.

However, these are the facts; The deal was made between De La Hoya and John Skipper and signed in the U.S. If Eddie Hearn had anything to do with this deal then we would have seen some kind photo ops of him, Golden Boy and Oscar by now but we have not, because he was never part of this deal.

Besides, why did DAZN give Golden Boy Promotions a guaranteed contract and only gave Matchroom Boxing an optional one where it can be voided in 2 years, if Eddie Hearn is on top of their food chain in terms of boxing content on DAZN; As you all say, then why did they give him such a small window?

This contract is not guaranteed, it is an incentive contract depending on how the subscribers go and can Canelo keep winning, so you are going to be seeing corruption, paid judges and referees, robberies as you have seen in his last 2 fights as well as Trout, Lara, and the one Judge who thought Canelo won in Mayweather fight, where he got dominated, he signed with HBO, and a flock of fighters did not run to HBO, so I don’t expect all fighters to run to Duck Zone, the fight in December is a joke and embarrassment
