Comments Thread For: Frank Warren Reacts To Saunders Denied License, MSAC Lawsuit

On Tuesday at a hearing the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission (MSAC) determined that it would not issue a licence to Billy Joe Saunders for him to defend his WBO World Middleweight title against Demetrius Andrade in Boston on October 20 following an adverse finding in a test carried out by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).

The bottom line is that Billy Joe Saunders takes his career
and his opponents as seriously as he took the ********** that
he had goaded into assaulting passersby.

Salty... always. But, MSAC will have nothing to provide to a supreme court that they had to take VADA's test as a fail when they are only commited to WADA, Warren maybe a sleazy scum bag but he knows the business better than you or i, he wont spend on it unless he has a good chance

Massachusetts is far from being a shthole . Now if you want to argue about the taxes , gun laws and how expensive it is now I would agree with you on that.

Nice try Warren but you still fail. Billy Joe Saunders signature is on a contract; Which supersedes the WADA protocol in favor of VADA. He chose to circumvent, the commission to do their job and went with VADA. He rolled the dice and lost. No one forced him to sign up for it because it was voluntary. It wasn't mandated by the WBO. It's too late for buyer's remorse now.

Could of swore that Vargas tested dirty under VADA for the Salido fight. Yet the fight was allowed to continue with Vargas getting tested more leading up to the fight and Vargas was never stripped.

VADA is a testing agency I think and it 's not in their remit to recommend punishments merely to report their findings. Best I can tell Fish Eyes is on point with this one. Rightly or wrongly Saunders did nothing in contravention of the MSACs rules on doping as they stand therefore they shouldn't be witholding a license on those grounds. Andrade would be absolutely entitled to pull from the fight without prejudice (and could probably seek restitution) on the grounds that Saunders had contravened the terms of the contract, and the WBO are absolutely within their rules for stripping Saunders for acting in a way that caused a title fight to be cancelled, but the MSAC themselves have in this instance acted incorrectly I think, whether you believe refusing to license Saunders was the morally correct decision or not.

Course, it's kind of moot now, since I believe Saunders' outburst would probably be more than sufficient reason to refuse a license, no matter what decision is ultimately taken on the Oxilofrine issue.
