Naw, this is actually how an interim title SHOULD be used. When championship in limbo or if a champion is injured & on the shelf for period of time, this prevents the title from being held up. Once the situation is resolved the interim champion should the for the REAL title.

Totally agree with you and with Rexy's comment #41. Interims have a very specific use, and this is fine. Saunders is the champ, but the interim here is 100% justified.

Yeah pooor Canelo he got the book throw at him!!! Just coincidense he got a 6 month slap on the wrist which happened to help him recover from knee surgery! Far as I'm concerned Canelo stole the middleweight title, lost both fights, fist one wasn't even close and the second one lost by a few rounds. Since when don't you have to beat the champion??? Yah sure.. tell em to suck ur prick than try to appeal their decision. Sure sounds like BJS wants this fight. I said from the jump that he would find a way out of this fight. Taking a nasal spray that happens to have a banned substance.. seems innocent enough to not come across as a real PED cheat but at the same time gets him out of the fight. an interim title exists to generate additional sanctioning fee's

there are plenty of rules in place to ensure that a title is not in limbo

1) enforce regular mandatories
2) an emeritus principle
