Someone translate what Peter Nelson is talking about

What he's saying is he tried to make boxing more relatable by creating stories around fighters, ie. 24/7, interviews, presenting the backgrounds of fighters etc. More so than actually putting together fights.
As much as he killed HBO, the production during Peter Nelson's era was superb. It was incomparable to anything HBO had done in the past.Comment

Translation: "If I say enough buzzwords it'll look like I'm smart. My hope is that this gibberish confuses people long enough for this to become old news. I actually don't know what I'm doing, please leave me alone."1/2: Peter Nelson on why he helped kill HBO #boxing. "Our mission is to use sports as a lens into socio-economic, political & cultural issues. I think humanizing individuals, creating empathy around different communities, allowing that to cross-pollinate for people in a way ....

2/2: "that allows them to contextualize themselves and the world around them. That's at the heart of what we strive to do." Somebody explain that pure gibberish to me please. I have a college degree but I didn't go to Harvard. #boxing

With Nelson leading the ship HBO produced less 24/7 for PPV , 2 days and any other boxing programs building the fighter basicalky only had the fight game to direct a false narrative that they wanted to spin
They spent and aired less shoulder programming when it came to boxing so his reasoning about the reason Boxing lies didn’t work is pure BSComment

i don't know enough about him, what's his actual role? would he have enough clout to decide if HBO airs boxing or not?
i think he's basically just saying what i referred to earlier, that boxing today and those things he talked about no longer go hand in hand, thus they feel it does not serve a purpose other than to make money and that's not all they're bout. That they are not dropping boxing for financial reasons, but because it does not deliver anything deeper that anymore.
whether anybody believes that or not is another matter. HBO are in the business of making money as much as anybody else surely?
sounds like they're just re-assessing their budget and think boxing is dispensable for them now in favour of putting money into other things and he's just trying to save face, rather than just saying that's the caseComment

Am I the only one who's wondering whats up with Fat Dan's angle "Peter Nelson on why he helped kill HBO"?
HBO killed HBO Boxing. HBO has been starving HBO Boxing for twenty f#cking years if you've been paying attention. HBO has cut HBO Boxing's budget by 75%-80% since the late 90's, early 00's by most peoples estimate. Wtf did Nelson do cept give the eulogy at the funeral of the guy who's been getting poisoned for years?
But yea I think Nelson was answering some other question or misunderstood wtf Fat Dan was asking or was offended by Fat Dan's question if he legit asked him why he killed HBO Boxing & Nelson went on a whole tangent about some other sh^t, but I'm having a hard time with Fat Dan's angle to begin with & having a hard time believing Nelson was answering the question Fat Dan is claiming he asked him.Comment

How many people legit think Nelson killed HBO?
Hell man I seen the writing on the wall when Nelson got hired & he was the first guy or first guy in forever to be running their boxing arm who they made the VP of Sports instead of the President of Sports. That right there said their sporting focus was lessening.Comment
