He's been saying a whole lot of nothing for years and nobody called him out on it. Now that HBO is dropping boxing people taking shots

It refers to HBO infecting everything with their political/ethical slant.
It's pretty transparent to me, as someone who has seen HBO doing this for years.

if you read between the lines, he's saying he thinks Boxing today is about money and little else. Boxing doesn't paint a picture of people's backgrounds, cultures and story anymore. it does not engage people towards fighters on a deeper level anymore. it's just merely become a money making product and that isn't his ethos. He wants it to have more impact than just being an entertainment product, and if it doesn't do that, he doesn't want to be part of it.

I think it's saying that they want to focus on the human side of sports stars, the back stories, their enviornment, seems like documentaries to me.

Not sure if you watched it, but Showtime had a series for the last few years where they followed a college football team for a full season (they did it with Navy, and then did it with Florida State).

I watched part of I think Florida State's bowl game (the game was okay, tbh), what you walked into the game wanting to see Deindre Francois figure out, and looking to see Derwin James trying to rally the defense from the sideline, and check for guys like Derrick Nnadi on the D-Line, and Dalvin Cook trying to leave Florida State as the all-everything runner from Miami, and wanting to see the transition from receiver to DB for that one player, and hope against hope that the 4-year senior QB who got hurt could find a bit of solace in the love and appreciation he picked up for sticking with it.

The actual sport kinda loses it's importance, so to speak.

Dalvin Cook and Derwin James were clearly top talents, but the stories weaved leave you in shock that Travis Benjamin wasn't really as dynamic a receiver as the stories would have you think.

Just a man using big words and fake concepts to avoid taking blame m

The message could have been done in about 2 lines if he was truthful

I got hired for a job I was unqualified for ,alienated or didn’t work all the powers and got outmaneuvered t the point i went from the first to the 4th most relevant boxing platform in 3 years

Basically I was sh.it at my job

Ahh ok. So they want to do more documentaries. You know what would've been a good documentary for HBO? The contender. Why didn't they pick that show up and it could've helped their boxing department.
