How the heck would you know whether they've been in contact or not?The WBC made this move because Loeffler cried to them and submitted a official request begging them to bump Charlo and mandate a 3rd fight.
Tom Loeffler, who's Promoter of Gennady Golovkin, will be asking the World Boxing Council to grant a direct rematch with new WBC middleweight champion Saúl "Canelo" Alvarez.
The request will coincide with the WBC's mandatory defences session. At the Ratings Committee at its Convention in Kiev Ukraine, Tom said: "We thought the judging of the fight, didn't reflect what happened in the fight"
"We are going to make a request for a rematch"
This has NOTHING to do with Canelo or Golden Boy. WBC were ready to make Charlo Canelo's mandatory after his voluntary defense. Then puzzzy boy Loeffler crying and making formal requests to jump the line ahead of Charlo. WBC could of EASILY told GGG kick rocks Charlo was already mandatory he is next in May and you can do what many fighters have done after a loss...work your way back up the rankings. Instead WBC actually helping GGG by telling him Canelo is fighting in Dec you fight Charlo and if you win you get Canelo in May. If anyone should be upset it's Charlo because now he has to fight GGG to get his spot all because of GGG's whining. But this has NOTHING to do with Golden Boy or Canelo who have not even been in contact with the WBC this is happening because GGG cried to the WBC begging them to leap frog Charlo.Comment

I don't think charlo has many real fans, cuz I haven't seen a single post protesting charlo having to fight for something he already had. you're right tho, ggg losing is far more important to some of these people than charlo advancing his career and getting a huge payday/shot at the title...and it's only cuz they feel like ggg is there for the taking.
all in all it's a good fight and charlo probably needs to earn that spot a little more anyway...but it's just a really bad look for the wbc to go back on what they've already ruled and start changing the rules. it would have looked better if they just granted canelo the option to rematch ggg and gave an extension for the mandatory imo. at the end of the day, charlo deserves his shot first, cuz he "earned" that position according to the wbc.Comment

Because Canelo has been on vacation his own promoter said they haven't talked to Canelo yet on what he wants to do. There has been no reporting that Golden Boy requested this and they damn sure wouldn't without authorization on what Canelo wants to do. And the WBC said flat out they received a request from GGG's camp and Loeffler himself did interviews admitting he made the formal request. FACT is none of this came from the Golden Boy camp. It's really simple Charlo was the mandatory the WBC days earlier already ruled that after his voluntary he had to face his mandatory which was Charlo. ONLY after Loeffler did what he does best cry like a bytch did they change course and decide that now they will mandate that Charlo and GGG fight each other and the winner get's Canelo next.
