It was a smart business decision on GGG's part. The Vanes fight was zero risk and more than offset the expenses incurred in preparation for the Cinco de Mayo fight with Canelo. But at the same time, it reinforced the idea that GGG feasts on lower level fighters and struggles with top-level fighters. Plus move destroys the idea that his cheerleaders advance that GGG is an all-time great who fights the best available fighters.

I'd probably agree with you had he actually not fought Canelo. He also fought Jacobs. I don't think that Vanes fight destroyed anything: you sound too categoric and overdramatic. C'mon...it was a better fight than Fury vs Seferi, at least both of them took it seriously. While it lasted.

Nobody wants 3 straight Canelo vs GGG fights. Give it a rest . Charlo vs GGG is a great option that clears things up affords GGG ability to earn 3rd fight and gives Charlo ability to earn that 1 big name win.

This has nothing to do with Canelo. It was Loeffler who cried and put in a formal request asking them to let GGG jump the line in front of Charlo and become Canelo's mandatory. If not for that then after his voluntary he was going to be mandated to fight Charlo. WBC is actually trying to help GGG out and saying you want the fight in May then beat Charlo and you get it. They could of said phuk you GGG you had 2 cracks already it's Charlo's turn and you can work your way back up the ranking like anybody else. This is the compromise they made because Loeffler crying begging them to mandate the fight and skip Charlo.

But Golovkin beat Canelo twice now and the WBC doesn't want him to win a 3rd time! If that were to happen no more cash cow and no more PPVs for Canelo! See how this business works?
