Floyd and Oscar split $90m on their fight and Floyd and Canelo split about $90m on their fight, so cutting Pacquiao a 40% piece on the assumption that their fight would earn a 10% premium on the prior record-setting prizefight, and fronting it to him (with Mayweather and his camp holding all of the execution risks) wasn't actually a terrible deal.

The fight taking three years longer to make, with Pacquiao being left for dead by Marquez, losing to Tim Bradley, and middling along behind Top Rank's smoke and mirrors, the fight somehow capturing the public's obsession, and turning a $100m fight to a $400m fight is earnestly unexplainable, tbh.

If you're going to do a flat fee, make it actually based on something.

We know that Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko split $50m on their fight (plus whatever personal sponsors money that they picked up too).

Assume Joshua-Wilder generates a 10% bump on that ($55m), and price 35% on that, and make that the flat fee offer. Calculator says $19.25m, but let's just call it $19m.

Wilder's camp can set up the meeting with Showtime/CBS to have them carry the US rights to the event, but if they want to do something else, Wilder is already taking a near $20m check to just hurry up and sit.

Wilder gets his fee, and then it'd be on Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Sport to go to Wembley, Sky Box Office, and the assumed DAZN that Hearn is pushing, to generate the proceeds to pay Wilder his money, pay Joshua what Matchroom Sport owes him per their deal, and hopefully not have Matchroom Sport lose too much to cover the event.

that is clearly a 100mil fight

the fact that Hearn was willing to offer Parker a 32.5% split, but will not split the pot fairly with Wilder..... tells the WHOLE story

I'm not a Brit, and don't know any British folks to call on, so I have no idea how the event was received in the UK.
Yeah I'd have to agree with the other guys response to this not that great due to time difference but I know everything is easy access over here. So if you can get Sky box office you'll be able to get BT PPV (it actually says you can get it on a Sky box as well) so I don't see any reason they'd do worse than sky unless they overpriced themselves but the rematch was £16 something so they don't look like they'd be more expensive.

If it's a 100mil fight and AJ had took the 50 mil garantee then Wilder would have got 25 mil (25%) of the purse, so should he be offered 25% as it's what his own deal would have given him?

          I understand that.

Still, Sky Box Office has been a part of one could conservatively guess at least 10 such events from the US, and I've yet to see a single one of those events draw as little attention from UK folks as this event put on BT Sport PPV.

sorry, but..... what a fkn dumb comment, seriously

            FACT: Parker was offered 32.5%

            that is a FACT lol

to offer Wilder anything less than 35%, is a flat out duck

to attempt to justify offering Wilder anything less than 35%..... is a flat out endorsement of that duck lol

why would you do that ?

is it really that important to you that this fight does not happen?

            why ?

I get that Wilder is dangerous, and I get that you like Joshua....., but fcuk it man, if Joshua is not good enough to beat Wilder, why are you hanging off his nuts?

Lol.... what a fkn dumb emotional, reaction.

What I stated was a 'FACT' it's a 'FACT' that he would have only got 33% off his own deal if the fight was Worth 150 mil so do you reckon he's just **** at business?

I'd expect him to get a 40% split but I was just letting you know how ****** his deal was as I knew I'd get a funny reaction from you as you clearly like to punch Wilders fart box with your tongue. 👅

how do you know that fight is worth 150mil ?

stop pulling figures out of your (casual-fan) ass

FACT: the normal approach is to do a split, like with Parker
                FACT: they offered Parker 32.5%
FACT: based on the Parker split, Wilder is worth at least 35%

so yea, that stuff you wrote was just silly garbage

I didn't say it was worth 150 I said if it was worth 150 he'd only get 33% of the purse on his OWN offer. Anything below is a lower percentage hence he only would have got 25% of the total purse if it was a 100 mil it's maths. Get an education before you reply next time gumbo.

Also why do you keep bringing up the Parker split I just said Wilder could probably expect 40% and you keep saying lower. Do you read before you post?

                    who cares about " if's "..... ?

that is why you split the pot with a percentage

so that there are no " if's "..... and even if there were, the " if " applies to both

good to see you starting to talk sense..... you should never have mentioned 25%

Again you didn't read it at least forgot what I was responding to from you. The whole Wilder/Joshua fight is an IF atm and that's what we're all talking about and so is any prediction of the value of the fight.

I was just explaining how badly Wilders team would have been doing over Wilder if AJ had gone through with the 50 million garanteed that everyone brings up Wilder gets half of what is left over so for a 100 mil fight he gets 25 mil which is 25%. Could you imagine how the reaction would have been if he had been offered this split from Hearn? He would be calling it degrading, so why would he do it to himself?

I know he can get more and I'm sure Hearn would struggle to refuse if Wilder demanded the same as Parker (32.5% as you mentioned) as Hearn knows Wilder could probably justify 40% . So what are the other upsides for Wilder?

And let's be honest as well, both guys benefit from this fight marinating the awful way it is.
