Was following until the "another reason to stop paying attention and tune to MMA" line...
How foolish. MMA is incredibly divided, far more so than boxing. I love MMA but to use it in a conversation about sanctioning?? Can a guy can carry a UFC belt at the same time as a Bellator one and defend them on the same night? No, MMA is not even playing on the same kind of field.

But UFC is dominant to the point where the average MMA fan either only knows about UFC, or clearly considers UFC the top organization.

The problem in boxing is the media and networks try to hide who the organizations are, and pretend they're all equal. So to an MMA fan, there is one clear world championship, the UFC championship, but to a boxing fan, there are four.

That doesn't excuse sloppy journalism. He didn't say "UFC", he said MMA. Only hardcore boxing fans are paying attention to the sanctioning bodies and MMA fans of equal vigor are certainty not blind to anything beyond the UFC.
        It was a bad comparison.

I do agree with you on the original points you made in the thread though.

el boxeo is ok. boxers have choice and plan to pay fees for ranking y journey. when time comes, boxeadores start newer challenges in competition and rivales. UFC es basico

Who said anything about journalism? It's clearly just an advertisement bought and paid for by the IBO.

WE KNOW IBO PAY LARGE SUMS OF MONEY IN ADVERTISING TO BOXING SCENE.

This tells us that this so called journo has no integrity. In fact, this site has no integrity if they did not disclose that they derive revenue from ibo - who is featured in this article.

I've NEVER read critical articles on this site, it's just gbp, top rank and now matchroom propaganda. If you are critical of them, the big boys won't feed you their scraps. Utterly pathetic.
In all fairness, Fitzsimmons has been pushing the IBO before he was even a writer for this site and way, way before the IBO ads were here.

He's had a very firm stance with holding the IBO above the other sanctioning bodies.

Saying that, Fitzsimmons has written things time and time again where I wasn't sure if he was actually serious or was looking for a shock reaction from the readers.

Who do you think brokered the deal between boxingscene and the IBO?

Lyle Fitzsimmons has been #1 propaganda master for the IBO for over a decade. He's been writing glowing reviews of the IBO on boxingscene nearly since its inception, obvious PR pieces about how great Ed Levin's **** smells. It's embarrassing any of these articles have even been published on this site, let alone all of them.

Maybe they agreed with you, because it got removed from the headline spot with a great article on Conlan by Tris Dixon, one of my favorite reads.

Boxrec have Groves/Smith scheduled for Friday, not Saturday.
