There's a reason that everybody fights Povetkin and yet only Wilder was willing to get in with Ortiz, in spite of the fact that King Kong calls everybody out.
Joe Joyce wants a piece of king Kong....
    How about that?

Povetkin knocked Ortiz out in 2 rounds in the amateurs... Ortiz is way overrated, lost his first step up fight at the age of 40.. so hes going back to fighting journeymen.

I agree, it would have been a hell of a fight several years ago, but Povetkin has been at it since 2004. Ortiz began his career in 2010. The point being that Ortiz is a tougher fight RIGHT NOW and I believe he would retire Povetkin for good.

To prove it, let's have Ortiz fight Joshua in April because neither Wilder or Fury will fight for anything less than 50% (so no deal for April). Besides, the winner of Wilder-Fury will have to fight the WBC mandatory anyway, then rematch later in 2019 so Joshua can fight whoever he wants. My guess is Whyte, since Hearn is building him up as the most deserving. Conveniently, Whyte is also the WBO mandatory, due next...
Ortiz is not better at this point. He looked slow, old and lethargic against Wilder. After actually throwing some punches in the 7th round, he gassed out so bad he was done for the night. And nothing happened in the first 6 other than them looking at each other with the crowd booing.

Povetkin is better now, and has always been better than Ortiz.

Careful, he might get what he wants.

Some will say a prime Ortiz would have done this or that and I ask, did Ortiz just started boxing? Where has he been all this while? In his so called prime days, what did he do? Who did he beat?

No wilder fan boy could answer any of this questions but they want us to believe he is a bogeyman. Am not buying into that crap.
Ortiz is nothing but a gatekeeper and an under achiever.

            That's all.
Totally agree, hate how the word ‘potential’ gets chucked around like means anything in boxing. Left Hook Lacey had potential, Tommy Morrison had potential, Audley Harrison had potential, look how they all ended up. Ortiz is the same, they can make all the excuses they like, the guys career record is meh...simple as that.

              I obviously disagree...

But that's why it's important for fighters to actually get in the ring and find out who's best BEFORE they fade. Ortiz is still in his prime, but Povetkin's best days are behind him. We'll never know if he COULD have beaten Joshua so to add his name to Joshua's resume as if it means something is silly. Beating a faded fighter proves nothing. Having a better resume against faded fighters means nothing. Speculating about who's better or who's the best is a waste of time.

If Joshua is ready, let's see if he's better than Wilder, better than Fury, better than Ortiz. If not, let's not pretend he's the best in the division until he actually proves it...

You think Ortiz is in his prime? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha

No. He. Is. Not. Prime fighters don't nearly fail the medical, nor are they on ****ing blood pressure tablets. **** me.

Joshua is the number 1 in the division until proven otherwise. So yeah, he is the best. Why, do you think it's Wilder or Fury? Hahahaha.

Again, I disagree. Ortiz is STILL a force to be reckoned with and nobody wants to challenge him. Avoided like a bad habit!

The only thing Joshua has proven is that he is better than Martin, a faded Klitschko, Parker and a faded Povetkin. He is not the lineal champion and has never proven himself to be number 1 in the division. He has Fury's belts, but hasn't fought Fury and he has gone out of his way to sidestep Wilder, the only champion that existed before he came on the scene. The number 1 was Fury, then Wilder, and after December 1st, we'll know who's the better of the two. Joshua never challenged for the number 1 spot IN THE RING and is now on the outside looking in. If he really wants it, he can fight the winner but something tells me Matchroom believes there's really no rush...

why are aj fans acting like this guy is the best fighter the sport has ever seen. these paid comment board hearnites are becoming too annoying. we can sit here and say who fought who in amatures or who gets more money, the bottom line is all of these guys need to fight, thats how we will determine whos the best
