Would definately give the app deal a huge boost and they always put on a decent production.
I know alot of posters will be hating on this because good ole Bob will be involved.
I wont pay for an app in espn especially if I already have espn. That's that dumb shet....

I don't get the whole SAS act at all, but I feel like casuals & sports fans love it & it makes them wanna check out boxing more so fair play with that cuz its ultimately a good thing for the sport cuz more casuals & sports fans coming along for rides = more money to make the fights us hardcore fans wanna see.

I won't be watching that SAS & Atlas comedic duo skit, but fair play to those who love it.

I will say it may be a little different as HBO is now part of the AT&T conglomerate through the Time Warner purchase and AT&T really wants to be the go to for entertainment, which they hope will drive all their other related businesses. This is why you get the HBO Go app for free with unlimited wireless on the AT&T network. So HBO boxing may get a serious shot in the arm if the sports dollar is on their "get done" list.

Or, they may not care at all, and it is RIP HBO Boxing. I can sure appreciate them though. HBO kept boxing relevant for a couple of decades where no one else cared.

You're not wrong. He gets the work for a reason.

I can just imagine I'm watching Canelo/GGG 3 and between the 11th and 12th rounds they move the fight from ESPN 2 to ESPN Deportes.

All joking aside, I like televised fights and can only imagine what numbers a Canelo (or to a lesser degree GGG) fight would do on ESPN regardless of the opponent.

The PBC cards were all clearing 1M views on ESPN lol but I heard that behind the scenes ESPN wanted to do an exclusive deal with PBC but Al wouldn't cut Showtime out of the deal. Apparently FOX wanted an exclusive deal too, but Al again wanted to be loyal to Espinoza. He gave Showtime an opportunity to come with an attractive deal (and that's what happened).
Thank you for making this post most people wont even take the time to look at pbc on espn to realize that their ratings are for the most part similar to top rank. manny vs Horn being the exception

And even danny Garcia vs guerrero was similar to loma vs rigo.

Cant thing of any other pbc shows that got to a million though.

But my point is pbc and top rank get the same ratings when pbc puts on D level cards.

Unless ESPN is getting into the PPV business, this will never happen.

                    Am I missing something?
Canelo’s HBO contract is up, that doesn’t mean his Golden Boy contract is up. Bob Arum isn’t going to have **** to do with cash cow Canelo’s next move.
ESPN can’t offer Canelo what he makes PPV splits. I say he stays with HBO.

                      Thurman v. Callazo
                      Garcia v. Malignaggi...

are just a few others that cleared 1M on ESPN too. I had a link from the sports business journal but I can't find it right now lol but your point is accurate. PBC was doing the same ratings with D level cards that Top Rank is doing with their A team.
