Getting rid of SHO makes no sense at all considering they have been invested in boxing more than any other network for the last five or so years.
PBC and SHOWTIME are two different companies with different needs.

The sports landscape is changing and PBC albeit is the leader in the boxing industry in order to stay ahead you must keep innovating.
I think PBC will eventually be on Fox and ESPN.

SHOWTIME is in a weird position with les moonves gone

You don't think if FOX would be giving PBC 50 dates and over $125 million per year they would have signed that deal and cut SHO off? Then PBC wouldn't need SHO if they were getting that type of investment. But guess what? FOX wasn't going to make that kind of investment in boxing. If and when this deal proves to work out for them, they will invest even more the next time around.

Again, I don't see the point in cutting out SHO. When they are investing this much into boxing, why cut them out? They have been the one consistent for the PBC since the launch.

And time will tell what happens to CBS/SHO without Les Moonves.

I think it would have been slightly less maybe 75-100 million. I believe haymon used the leverage of having two networks bidding to increase the deal amount. Also I don't believe boxing will ever succeed being on one network like the UFC does.

SHO doesn't help make boxing a mainstream sport again. It keeps it niche and doesn't pay the same other networks are willing to pay. If you are PBC you give SHO the benefit of the doubt and give them a chance to improve but if they cant benefit the brand or stable than bye!!!! But al haymon seems to be a loyal guy so they will get their pretty penny before that happens.

True right now Les moonves right hand man joseph lanniello is running things so maybe their can still be hope for Showtime boxing

No one is questioning the quality of the cards. I am sure most will be good. But that isn't enough to keep their guys busy

BTW what stations benefits the PBC brand the most. When AL decides to sell the PBC which I believe he will do!!! probably to Zuffa/WME hes going to want top dollar and SHOWTIME doesn't add as much value as a FOX/ESPN does or FOX/CBS etc.

Not ESPN at least not for several years. ESPN and Top Rank just signed a 7 year extension for exclusivity

Entire undercards for each card will be televised on FS1.

No one is ignoring SHO. Remember the mission statement of PBC was "Free Boxing For All" and didn't include any premium networks like HBO or Showtime. Al only fux with Showtime because for several years it was the only network actually paying him money when he was shelling out for time buys.

I don't know where you get close to 30 high level cards. There are going to be 10 on Fox and there have been 8 Showtime Championship Boxing cards so you are looking at another 2-3 cards on SHO this year so you mean 20-22 high level cards. Maybe you confused their international cards as high level cards but those had Joshua, Linares etc and weren't Haymon guys.

There are close to 200 PBC guys and of course not all are high level. But its just not enough for their upper tier guys. I am sure guys like Spence and Wilder will get priority but other guys will still be not as busy and you need more dates just to keep the off tv guys active.

PBC has we will round high to 22 high level cards a year and 12 farm league for prospects so 34 cards total.

Top Rank has 30 high level dates plus will produce another 24 international cards. 30 high level cards is way more than 22 high level cards.

Now if PBC drops another network deal as is the rumor then maybe they can keep all their guys busy....

Except ShoBox cards don't have Haymon fighters lol. Look at this weeks card with Jon Fernandez and next week's with Devin Haney and the rest of this year and lasts. ShoBox cards consist of GH3, Banner Promotions, Thompson Boxing, DiBella, and other lower level promoters. No PBC fighters.
