It's hilarious listening to the trolls on this forum... I remember the level of trolling when i first joined.. i almost didn't believe it.
Now we know why GGG wanted no part of Ward

Strange, I don’t remember ggg asking Floyd to fight him at 160. Ward did that. Most of your fellow hype job bunboys asked Floyd to fight GGG @160lbs. Floyd never said 147-160lbs like GGG 154-168lbs. either. I didn't want GGG to fight Ward until I heard the anyone from 154-168lbs. so that's on them for talking **** when they had no intentions of fighting outside of 160lbs.Comment

What I've learned the last few days is that all these "fans" are really just "fan girls" and not "boxing fans".
If it doesnt fit their agenda then oooo, person A ducked person B. Blah blah blah.Comment

[QUOTE=Curt Henning;19120259]So you gonna take the word of very fans you hate instead??? Their narrative didn’t change as they love GGG, it is the neutral observers that won’t deny he’s lost a step or two. Everybody does at 34-36.Guess we just have to use logic on this one. Would wilder— a guy known for knocking cans as well— perform better today against joshua than he will lets say 3-4 years from now?? Of course he would!
Jacobs fight happen when GGG is already 35. Brook when he was 34. It’s quite easy to connect the dots here.
No fighter is better at 36 than they were at 30. (Only hopkins come to mind)
right..i know no fighter at 36 is better physically than he is at 30...ive already stated that
what im saying is that we dont know how good golovkins peak was because his comp/resume stinks during that time
all of the guys youve mentioned, sans wilder, have solid resumes with legit comp during their primes...youve mentioned oscar, floyd, pac......
we simply cant gauge how good golovkins peak was.....many of golovkins fans, pre jacobs, claimed that golovkin was a young fighter for his age that hadnt taken much punishment and could prob fight well enough into this 40s(this was actually said by many here and elsewhere)....the minute he looked less than stellar the narrative changed....coincidentally this happened once he stepped up above C level guys
You can read it here and elsewhere as well.
When was 34-36 considered young in this sport?? Who was better in 34-36 than they were in their physical primes?
This is a physical sport, this is a young man’s game. Speed kills in this sport and he lost a lot of it and he’s not even moving up in weight. So it’s not a weight factor, it is just aging. You telling me you get better when you lost a lot of speed? Mehh!
We cannot gauge for sure, but we can estimate and use logic.
And wilder is one good example since he’s also destroying cans at 30 yrs old.
I repeat, is he gonna get better at 36 instead when he steps up his comp? HmmmComment

I already mentioned him in our convo so keep up Bud.
But wait.. GGG, a pressure attacker, should age like Hopkins who doesn’t fight anywhere close to that??? Hmmm
Pretty comparableComment

wilder is really your only example...because the other guys you mentioned actually fought quality level guys in their primesSo you gonna take the word of very fans you hate instead??? ggg did not...he fought all C level guys in his prime....with some maybe having a glimmer of hope of teetering on C+/B-......canelo is also very new to the MW level.....who knows....maybe in another year or two the 30 year old version of canelo, more acclimated to MW and fighting them, would put a beat on golovkin???? we dont know
golovkin was given much respect by canelo because of the myth that he was so good and so strong.....but canelo tasted it and didnt fear it the 2nd time around and stood up to him? how do you know that a more acclimated 30 year old canelo doesnt stop golovkin on cuts?Comment

Of course a 30 year old Canelo would further put a beatdown on a 38-39 year old Golovkin.wilder is really your only example...because the other guys you mentioned actually fought quality level guys in their primes

Let’s reverse the age what do you think will happen? Will it not be a factor?
Wilder is the closest example as they have similar careers at 30.
But in general no pressure attacker got better at 36 than when they’re younger. No fighter has gone better when they lost speed.
So basically all of them are examples. With the exception of hopkins — style wise it’s a terrible comparison.
Name one pressure attacker/ offensive fighter that got better at 36. Please
Since you don’t think it’s the same with GGG. Suddenly he reversed the process? lol
Just because the competition got better late in his career doesn’t mean he was also better version of himself.
He lost a step or two, and it’s not enough anymore to beat the young lions. Just like Pac at 36 not enough to beat crawford.
GGG performed well at 36. But let’s not base everything thereComment

In theory, ward may win, but we never know until they actually fight, which is not going to happen. Looking at ward's last opponent, I do believe GGG does some things better than kovalev in terms of offensive skills. He can pick apart habits of opponents better. In the 2nd canelo fight, he noticed that canelo was timing with his jabs, going for the left hook to the body, so he made an adjustment and went for a really nice uppercut that rocked canelo when canelo went for the body. There are a lot of subtle adjustments he made in that 2nd fight that got overlooked. People were caught up on canelo walking him down. I think GGG did well in the 2nd half despite getting tired. Kovalev on the other seem to follow the same gameplan over and over, and when he gets tired his motivation and heart seems to falter. GGG is also more disciplined than kovalev and has a better team around him. GGG might give ward a tougher fight than kovalev. Not saying he will win ward, but from the eye test, he can do good provided he can get a good read and judge distance on ward.Last edited by Lance98; 09-19-2018, 07:01 PM.Comment
