True to a certain extent. But this thread is base solely on his 35-36 yr old performances. It’s like basing pac’s performance base on his Vargas and horn days.
I’d like to think he’d put on a better show during his peak, and if your not bias you’d agree.Comment

the problem with golovkin is we aren't sure what hed do against elite fighters at his peak because we never saw it.....whether its his fault or not we just don't know
we cant be sure that the version of golovkin that beat Curtis stevens would beat current canelo because..lets face it...its Curtis stevens...who was beaten by marcos primera and jesse Brinkley........we aren't really sure what golovkins peak really was because theres a lack of elite fighters on his resumeComment

He was able to compete well during his late age against an elite prime fighter in Canelo. For me that’s enough evidence he’d do slightly — if not totally better — in his prime.the problem with golovkin is we aren't sure what hed do against elite fighters at his peak because we never saw it.....whether its his fault or not we just don't know

Watching his performances and training videos, we can already compare the vast difference in his speed today and 6 yrs ago.
It’s like saying oscar wouldn’t perform better in his prime against Floyd when he was able to hang in there and win 4 rounds when he was 34 and inactive.
Seriously no pressure attacker in history have gone better at 36 than they were, lets say 30.Last edited by dibzvincent143; 09-19-2018, 10:28 AM.Comment

sure...but beating up Curtis stevens and Daniel geale....and kell brook....and willie Monroe...and gabe Rosado....proves nothingHe was able to compete well during his late age against an elite prime fighter in Canelo. at least we know what Oscar was in his prime.....
heck...even old Miguel cotto was able to destroy danny geale....and cotto aint no MW.....stevens was beaten by D level guys
every guy look faster at 30 than they do at 34-36...but g's comp level leaves a lot to be desired...makes it nearly impossible to say how hed fare
hes fought one elite fighter...and one guy below elite level....and that's really it.....and he only has 1 close win over the less than elite danny jacobsComment

Ward would have totally schooled him and Froch would have beaten him half to death. GGG has never been hard to hit and that kind of fighter was bread and butter to Froch.Comment
