I mean okay, but this isn't just a Showtime vs HBO thing. I mean to a lot of fans it might be, but its not in reality. If Showtime wants Haymon all to themselves why are they okay with Fox? Just cuz its a non-premium channel?

Why is there so much of a problem with HBO & Showtime working with PBC but there isn't a problem with Showtime, Fox, CBS, NBC, ESPN, Bounce & whoever else has been showing PBC fights for the same period of time they've been linked up with Haymon?

Does Showtime got a personal vendetta against HBO or something?

Come on man, you know it's history there. Especially from the past 4-5-6 years. Mayweather leaving HBO to Showtime. Canelo leaving HBO to
SHO and back to HBO. The whole Kovalez-Stevenson ordeal. Certian fighters having contracts with said networks. The GBP-De La Hoya-Schafer-Haymon fiascos.

Sure Matchroom has the deal with Jacobs, but with how Haymon is attached to fighters he can do sh^t where certain guys go anywhere. Haymon has guys fighting on all platforms basically now. He's got a wide ass net. Jessie Vargas just signed a deal with DAZN despite many fans seeming to think Haymon wouldn't piss on Hearn if he was on fire or vice versa.

And there is allegedly another TV deal about to be announced so clearly Haymon doesn't think he has enough dates to keep his massive roster busy. Idk why any party wouldn't do business with any other party if there is benefits to be had by doing so & I don't think Haymon wants HBO dead like a lot of pro- & anti-Haymon guys think.

And working on this theory why is it 100% impossible that couldn't be a PBC friendly promoter like DiBella or Tom Brown who'd have their PBC connections & put on PBC fighters from time to time if not every show?

From the sounds of it HBO isn't saying the right sh^t to Oscar cuz Oscar's said some negative leaning things about HBO lately. Maybe that'll change in the weeks & months to come, but to me if you are betting on GBP/Canelo then you make a deal pre-fight to extend the deal with Canelo specifically & they didn't do that.

Seemingly the whole HBO roster is non-existent right now which is nuts. To me that doesn't suggest AT&T has gotta figure out the budget for 2019. That says they are ending their boxing product or they are re-booting it entirely & steering in a different direction with boxing from 2019 on.
This is going off of pure gut feeling, but I'm fairly certain that Jacobs deal with Matchroom Sport and the deal with HBO are parallel deals, and the guaranteed fights on the HBO deal are up with this coming October fight (there may be other fights on the deal, but my guess is that they are options that HBO has the right to match for). The IBF belt became vacant, Derevyanchenko was the #1 challenger, Derevyanchenko-Jacobs was the matchup called for by the IBF, and Jacobs had more money for the fight with his broadcaster. Win or lose, Haymon ends up with a piece of the middleweight title to make moves with (even if Jacobs wins, the next fight is likely for an option that doesn't make financial sense outside of against Alvarez or Golovkin, possibly Lemieux; like Kovalev, HBO could decline).

Beyond that, Jessie Vargas is more 'friend of the family' than signed with Haymon, from what I can tell. Vargas was Floyd's first prospect, and them still being on good terms had value.

Also, Tim Smith talked up a big deal coming soon, he made no push towards that deal being another TV deal; the public did.

Oscar is trying to bid up the value of his package of talent beyond their actual value, and HBO's new crew isn't playing ball just yet. Oscar will let the deal go, shop his package after the ESPN time-buy formally ends, realize how he's basically burned every other chance, and come back to what HBO has likely offered for the rest of his roster (or gamble with Facebook).

And then the new Canelo PPV contract will get negotiated, imo.

Showtime/CBS and FOX/FS1 are on different tiers, which is why they can co-exist.

Showtime and HBO are direct competitors, competing for the same customers.

And? History doesn't make the future all the time. Specifically when there are changes being made & have been made.

Do Nelson & Espinosa have some beef? I legit don't know, but I'd be surprised if they do.

And sh^t who's saying Nelson isn't getting the boot soon so maybe someone new comes in. I mean if Boxing is gone Nelson is getting the boot, but maybe they are bringing in a whole new cat too.

What if the aforementioned Tim Smith becomes the VP of HBO Sports (Nelson's current position)? And okay thats a bit much & out there pretty far I don't disagree, but I'm merely using it as an example that someone more favorable to PBC could be put in a high position with HBO cuz by most accounts Nelson has dropped the ball with his reign there. And if HBO still wants to stay in boxing, which is a legit question, then getting rid of Nelson seems like a move that could be made at any time.

What's gonna happen when HBO has a non-PBC Boxing event on and SHO has a PBC event on at the same time.

Is the HBO guys gonna tell you to watch the PBC event on SHO?

Or the other way around. ShoBox is on and PBC on HBO is on. How does that work?

Vargas is WITH Haymon. If he's one of the guys who gots the phone number or comes in & takes a seat in the office who knows.

Floyd's first prospect was Wes Ferguson.

Where did I say that wasn't the case. I'm merely speculating on if it is a TV deal. I said in my initial post whats what & I think I've used allegedly more than once in my posts as well to not confuse anyone.

Randomly if its not a TV deal what is it? Deal with T-Mobile or MGM? Idk if I'd call that sorta thing a big deal to fans. The Barclays deal fell on deaf ears & wasn't that hyped in the first place I felt like.

Oscar is trying to bid up the value of his package of talent beyond their actual value, and HBO's new crew isn't playing ball just yet. So your stance is HBO is dying on the GBP hill right now? Cuz if they don't/can't make a deal with GBP they have nothing now it appears.

Haven't there been PBC events on the same time already? I recall that happening before. And if HBO is cutting back there won't be much to dodge anyway.
