Wtf did anyone say anything about wards jab,Ward schooled kkkova in both fights(1st one was very close),he took his soul & destroyed him in the 2nd fight is the difference. Only a gggstan would say ggg won the biggest fight in boxing by landing more jabs & getting heavily outlanded in power shots. Ive ALWAYS said power punches are what truly matters in a title fight thats close,as well as eye catching shots, controlling the fight,& DEFENSE. Gggstans contradict themselves constantly; just like sanchez who said canelo didnt land any body shots on g in the 1st fight & that he "would get kod to the body with a ginger snap especially if he "didn't run",as well as that gg would outland to the body again.

Triangle theory doesnt really work in boxing though. The fact that Golovkin is taller heavier and bigger than Mayweather, more so than young Canelo, and that Jab of GGG is so good, while the jab is Mayweathers only weakness, as he showed against Oscar, i think Golovkin would've been far more dangerous than Canelo for Floyd. Saying that, i thought Golovkin won both fights with Canelo, not by much.Comment

Golovkin wasn't necessarily tired but those bodyshots affected him especially in the beginning. He also looked a lot slower than Canelo. One of the things I observed in Golovkin even when he was dominating lesser opponents, whenever he got stung he would stop punching, back away, and reset. In the first 5 or 6 rounds he was doing a lot resetting. Canelo never gave a chance to completely reset because he would follow him with a punch. Say what you want about the decision Canelo fought a smart fight. I also give Golovkin some respect because he could've folded in the first half of the fight but he kept going and made it uncomfortable for Canelo in the late rounds.Comment

Mayweather would've straight clowned him. He'd be swinging at air all night.Comment

Sorry Hopkins, but 36 years of past prime IS partly a BIG factor against a very good 28yr old, especially when considering Golovkins pressurized endurance style. GGG fights the same as he ever did, but he's not the same energenic fireball he couldve been - like he used to be at at 28 or even 32......Not saying Golovkin surely would have won if he was younger, just saying he probably would have NEVER "backed up" against Canelo(?) especially when the going got tough with the style that favored his......Nevertheless, Canelo was DRUG FREE while winning this tough fight!.....RESPECT to the DRUG FREE DON!!....who probably DID foolishly consume tainted meat when he easily (with his big money) couldve imported "meat" from anywhere else in the world.......That never should have been an issue for Team-Canelo since Mexico was put on notice for over 8 years.....Comment

While most worldwide commentators --not only in the US and UK-- EVEN IN MEXICO saw the fight end at 116-112 or 8-4 in favor of GGG, there's suddenly so many "fair weather fans" of Canelo on here, probably Americans who are very, very happy for the fact that Hopkins' record wasn't shattered, that are suddenly claiming that Canelo is a great fighter, that he did better than GGG, that his punches were more powerful and meaningful, nothing of which is true.
The effective one, the one landing more powerful punches, specially the jab and lots and lots of power punches to the face, was GGG, and he also connected a truckload of harsh uppercuts. And he was the only one who hurt the opponent, Canelo never hurt him, made him lose balance or stun him, but GGG clearly rocked Canelo real hard, stunned him and almost knocked him down in one of the last rounds, I think it was the 10th or 11th. Everybody saw that.
Yes, Canelo deserves a statue or a monument for fighting THE FIRST TIME IN HIS WHOLE CAREER 100% like a man, like a true Mexican, going forward all the time, being the aggressor --until he gassed out as it was to be expected in the last four rounds or so-- and making GGG backpedal, which is a thing that has never been seen until yesterday. Kudos to that. But being semi-suicidal, marching forward in an aggressive manner and MISSING LOTS AND LOTS OF PUNCHES OR CONNECTING THEM TO THE ARMS OF THE OPPONENT while the opponent was clearly the effective one and the one landing the way harder punches, DOESN'T WIN FIGHTS.
It's like Margarito going after Pacquiao all fight long, putting up pressure and still getting really beat up. Of course that wasn't the case this time, it was truly a competitive fight but by no means did Canelo exert EFFECTIVE AGGRESSION the whole fight. He got countered and punched real hard countless of times. He showed he is a true man and has an incredible will an chin, but THAT'S IT. That doesn't make him the winner.
The judges were set to give Canelo the win in a very, very tight fashion like they did, because the mandate was: protect the record of Hopkins at all costs. But make it look credible, make it a very tight decision.
Yet people who SAW THE WHOLE FIGHT saw reality. I'd call it a robbery because GGG was robbed of a record he truly deserved over Hopkins and he was also robbed of all his belts. Not because it was any crazy scoring, because the fight was very close, but still, most unbiased commentators and experts saw it 8-4 GGG and they saw it like that for a reason: because that's what really happened. I think yesterday was a sad day for boxing. It proved that the judges have always been a sold-out bunch, specially when fights are multi-millionaire events in Vegas. Sad but true.Last edited by sterilizer; 09-16-2018, 06:31 PM.Comment

Let's not forget, at 36 the LEGENDARY B-Hop was shocking the world and destroying a prime Tito Trinidad at a time when Tito was looking like Godzilla. Tito would've knocked out either guy last night, and B-Hop would've taken their souls.
So no excuses from Triple Slow's fan club that he suddenly got "old" at 36. No, he never was all that great to begin with. Just massively hyped and feasting on cans. Once he upped his level of competition and faced actual, credible threats in Jacobs and Canelo he's looked like nuthin' special.
Thank Jeebus this HBO backed ponzi scheme didn't break B-Hop's record.Comment
