Most people felt Magee was going to beat Hatton because Magee was a crafty counter-puncher while it was perceived that Hatton was just a non-stop pressure fighter, but Hatton didn't just go steaming in that night (after the first couple of rounds atleast) which took everybody by suprise as he out-boxed Magee.

Gary Shaw told everybody who would listen that Tackie would eat for Hatton for breakfast! All the American's said that Hatton was just a face-first brawler and that Tackie would punish him bad, saying **** like nobody beats Tackie by going at him, ofcourse people totally under-estimated (or were not aware of) Hatton's BOXING ability - he completely baffled Tackie (and most people for that matter) with his 'in and out' tactics and skills - Tackie was expecting a toe-to-toe war. Calzaghe/Lacy reminds you of Hatton/Tackie so much..

Tackie was 24-4 and had a shot to give Hatton trouble, yes, but few and far between picked Tackie to win.

LMFAO! It is common knowledge that Eamonn Magee was world-class, anybody who knows anything about him knows that he clearly had world-class skills. He was more than a world-class amateur (beat URKAL, who went on to win Olympic Silver), and looked more than world-class against Hatton (handspeed and counter-punching was sick early on, and Hatton went on to beat the king Tszyu).
