well it will be interesting how fast it gets stale when they keep talking about thurman, porter, and garcia over and over and no one else in boxing exists. maybe they will pretend like they haven't even fought yet!

I don't know about PBC doing PPV. PPV is very star driven business and PBC don't really have any huge stars. Wilder is a semi-star but he can't do big numbers on PPV on his own. Seems like they're trying to just imitate UFC and hope it sticks.

CBS? Or NBC can be the only ones I can think of unless they got another cable outlet like TNT or something. That would be a good network since they're NBA fan base is built in and they can piggyback that. Saturdays are free besides playoff time and NCAA Tournament week.
Sh^t idk thats why I was asking you lol. But yea I was thinking a TV deal too.

I mean the best I could muster up with much confidence was something with Bounce with a TV deal, but idk if you wanna make it like thats a big deal & honestly I'm not entirely sure there isn't some Bounce/PBC agreement already.

I don't think it'd be CBS cuz it seems like those big networks don't like to play with each other too often, but there is that Showtime/CBS connection so who knows. I was thinking some middle of the road type cable channel. TNT would fit that mold.

I don't think it'd be a bad idea to have some sorta app product out there to. Everything is heading that way so if there was some PBC/Fox specific app that connected all these Fox platform boxing shows that would seem like a good idea. Idk if you'd have to pay something for that or just show you got cable service like many of these apps have or maybe a mix of both so they cover you if you cut the cord or still got cable. I mean I hate watching anything at x time. I mean if a fights on at 9pm I'm going to be there, but if you could have a app that streams all these shows plus allowed you to watch them at a future date I think that serves them well. But admittedly I might be thinking too big here or this might be too much of me thinking what I'd specifically like to see vs what Fox would be willing to create/agree to.

And randomly they brought this up during the podcast to, but they really need to find a way to count app views in overall ratings to fully show the viewership of all shows boxing & otherwise.

Boxing Esq is a low key, but quality podcast & among my favorites. If you got 90mins to kill this is a good listen with Kurt Emhoff having Tim Smith on to talk the Fox/Showtime deal & talks about several interesting topics involving PBC.

Most interesting to me is he's saying Fox PPV will be a thing as well now (not sure if thats already known or not, but I've not seen anyone mention it) so this will probably be the platform for most of the biggest fights PBC is involved with now.

Second interesting is he's saying all the weigh ins & pressers will be on some Fox platform. Assume Fox Sports 1 or some lower grade version of Fox Sports, but he doesn't say specifically.

He also says they are a couple weeks from announcing some other new sh^t.
Best podcast for the business of boxing. Being a lawyer and former manager of fighters he knows the right questions to ask.

Here was another good one he had with Hauser

He said it'll be a real boxing show on Fox and won't be some show on an app broadcast on Skype from someones basement (talking about Dan Rafael's show on ESPN plus )

He talks some things on this podcast you wouldn't expect to hear from a guy in his role with PBC & is more like how a fan thinks of things with his takes on specific boxers & moves.
I think that says a lot though about their mission. And it's why I'm a fan of PBC.

That's what I'm saying. They don't want to hear it. So they underreport, ignore him, and then claim the fighters need a promoter because no one speaks on their behalf. Meanwhile, they call Arum 12 times a day. US boxing media is full of clowns.

Regular shows on Fox & shows pushing the product better should help grow names.

But you gotta strike sooner or later with PPV with these guys if you are gonna strike. I think this Wilder vs Fury fight is good PPV start for Wilder. If its the grand opening or grand closing with Wilder with PPV if he loses is in play here doe so Wilder could have a real short PPV run.

And sh^t man few PPV guys can do good numbers by themselves. You'll notice that looking at everyone's PPV numbers. So yea if you are gonna PPV sh^t up you gotta know that Wilder vs Fury is gonna do better numbers than Wilder vs Breazeale & either don't PPV certain fights or lower your expectations or expenses if you still go ahead with lesser valued fights.

Not sure how they are being like the UFC doe. The UFC is driven on monthly PPV's (although iirc they will be doing less with their new deal). It sounds like PBC will be doing one or two a year. Which is pretty much standard for most promoters pre-this subscription era that is upon us.
