Garcia's aggression was effective in the sense that he was landing harder, crisper shots, while expending much less energy. Porter was just working and pushing forward, which was effective, but he was way less economical with his shots, which typically means "not as effective" when you're doing about the same damage for much more effort. That's what I meant by "effective aggression". He made his shots count more when he chose to throw.
Garcia doesn't seem to have another gear though. He fights his fight, and when it doesn't work, he doesn't get desperate or change his gamelan at all. It's like he thinks he's fighting 140 guys or something, and not realizing that welters can walk through his power.
