However HBO signing Jim Lampley for another three years, tells me they are not out yet. I suspect it makes Boxing makes HBO a more attractive product for lower in ome households
Yea they probably just keep getting smaller for the next 3yrs, but lets not act like they couldn't still be done before then & just keep paying Jim or use him for other non-boxing sports or sports docs perhaps.

I'm not trying to make any specific prediction with when HBO closes up shop but it does seem like things have gotten smaller for a long time & eventually one can assume it'll lead to boxing on HBO ceasing to be a thing.

top rank is getting a small percentage of the espn+ revenue, depending on how much their fight library is watched on the service. there are other incentives as well. on the other hand, if TR does a PPV, ESPN gets a nice taste of the action. so both sides are dipping into revenue from the other side. but in terms of the actual budget for the fights, it grows each year, but isn't anywhere near the SHO budget or FOX budget, let alone combined. it is bigger than the HBO budget though.

      • Again, I highly doubt they have a budget of $32 million with 30 shows.

I see and thanks your one of the few on this sight who always give fair well thought out answers so im going to ask you a weird theory and question I just thought of?

How does haymon and bob arum handle gangsters in boxing? For instance J prince and Kathy duvas lawyer were said to be gangsters.

Also is it possible that roc nation actually was working with haymon behind the scenes. It seems as though they took out the shady promoters and then just left town

This is crazy I know but I trust your opinion enough to let me know if im jumping the gun

enough people in the industry have figured out who i am that it wouldn't be wise for me to post publicly about any alleged "gangsters."

Even if the ESPN/TR ink wasn't dry, which it is, GBP just doesn't have the depth to give ESPN what they want. Even TR barely has the depth, but at least they have the experience to fake it. Beyond Canelo, GBP has practically nothing and Canelo only fights on PPV. Golden Boy will be boxed out of the business after Canelo's run is over.
PBC will control at least 80% of the market in three years. Crazy

Brand split fell apart a long while ago; there were other reasons, but a big one was when SmackDown faced a run where basically the 6 of the top 7 guys on the show all got hurt around the same time and the show was rough to watch.

Have tried to bring it back in the last couple of years though
