Fury is the REAL champ. Gayj is a paper champion. dudes like Shyte, Parker and Pedvetkin could be ranked ahead on paper but none of them are truly better than Fury and would be underdogs against him. how many tune ups did Fury need to be "ready" for a guy who can knock you out with one punch? lets not forget Gayj was calling out Fury when he was retired and weighing 400 lbs. and you had no issue with that.

Nobody is rating Fury. A win means very little.

                    Both lineal champs.

Oh, wait, you don’t realize that, do you?

To be the man, you’ve got to beat the man. Fury beat the man and nobody has beaten him since.

joe louis was enlisted in the army during some small war, what was it called again?

and jack dempsey is a perfect example of this mythic idea of "lineage" that can't be broken by reasonable things one should assume would break lineage, like a drug suspension and retirement from boxing for almost three years in the case of tyson fury, is completely impractical. jack dempsey didn't fight black fighters. he wasn't the world champion of anything. he was the white world champion and he didn't even ahve ot defend his title.

this will derail the converstaion, but do you think jack dempsey had a good reign, or that what he did with the "lineage" was acceptable.

and after deciding for yourself[ and not based on some idea generated by others that is completely impractical if it allows for the cases i mentioned,] do you think tyson fury is still the lineal champion after not fighting for years and failing a drug test for nandrolone? i understand that his drug test was swept under the rug and honestly maneuvered brilliantly by his handlers, but he tested positive for nandrolone, an anabolic steroid and not the kiddie pool of PEDs, and lost his license to box. then he tested positive for coke, hit about 350-400 lbs, and REALLY lost his license to box.

would lennox lewis be lineal champion if he came out of retirement? again, this conversation ends up sounding ******, doesn't it?
