Not liking GGG is not biased. It's just not liking him. There have been a number of fighters that are better-Leonard, ODH, Roy, Manny-that I also didn't like either.
Don't see why not liking him is such an issue.Comment

How many times a title was vacated means absolutely nothing. By 2004 it was a well respected title. The organization was fully established and credited in the 90's. If you don't like it, that's not my doing or problem.Comment

Not liking him is one thing. Not recognizing facts about him because of it is another story. I can't stand Floyd on a personal level but that doesn't keep me from acknowledging his in ring brilliance and ATG resume. That's how I know I'll always be up on posters like you on here. I think on another level. It's that simple to me. You're like Zab Judah of boxing knowledge while I'm like Floyd. There's levels and I'm just on another level.Comment

^This.
Back in the day, late 80's - early 90's, the WBO was seen as a J O K E of an organization whose belts were largely held by Eurobums too afraid to take an ass-whipping from their American/Mexican counterparts. Dariusz Michalczewski anyone? Lol..Comment

the wbo MW title wasn't respected by all in the boxing community in 2004. The MW belt had been vacant for most of the 3 years prior to 2003. part of the reason why it wasn't respected was they couldn't get credible people to fight for the belt. They all wanted the legit champ in Hopkins.
Then some south american journeyman grabbed it, then sturm got it. Once ODH beat Sturm, his holding the belt gave it luster and Bhop winning it made it legit.
You don't know this and you are not going to factor it into how you see things so we can just end this here.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 08-20-2018, 03:10 PM.Comment
